[Keqing cosplay] Yuheng's Summer Aquatic Movement

In the scorching summer, nothing feels more refreshing than diving headfirst into a cool swimming pool. This time, I brought Genshin Impact Keqing cosplay in a summer swimsuit to shoot at an outdoor swimming pool with my photographer. To be honest, wearing a long light-purple twin-tail wig in temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius was truly a double test of endurance against heat and physical energy, but the moment I saw the glistening ripples, all the mugginess vanished.

This summer swimsuit outfit retained character features while heavily emphasizing summer coolness. The top featured a white spliced design with ruffles, a layer of semi-transparent mesh in the middle, and thin black shoulder straps, making it both breathable and visually layered under sunlight. The choker remained the classic style with a pearl pendant and purple tassel, pairing seamlessly with the overall color scheme. The lower half was a deep navy blue skirt design with subtle pleated edges, complemented by a black pearl chain garter on the right leg, adding exquisite detail to its cute look. For props, I prepared an inflatable swim ring with a blue-to-purple gradient; its star patterns perfectly echoed the colors of the swimsuit.

The sunlight on the shooting day was extremely intense, direct against the water surface to create shimmering reflections. The light bokeh turned out very natural, though it severely tested the wig's texture. To ensure faithful restoration of the beast-ear styling and dark purple bows on both sides of the crown, the photographer and I coordinated angles numerous times to capture a natural, relaxed summer vibe. The photographer (Yongzhe / Enshi Maoju) was skilled at capturing dynamic water glimmers; to get those floating light bokeh spots on the water surface, he practically lay flat along the pool edge to adjust focus.

A fun little episode during shooting was that because we stayed outdoors continuously, the wig grew quite hot under the sun, so I stepped directly into the shallow area, letting water cover my ankles. The moment cool pool water touched my skin through the mesh swimsuit edge, it felt immensely healing. The moment in Photo 4 where I sat at the pool edge looking down sideways at the water was caught while interacting with my reflection; sitting barefoot on damp tiles made me feel completely blended into the summer rhythm.

Although this long wig made moving near the pool somewhat inconvenient, we persisted with the outdoor shoot for hours to achieve the best result. Throughout the process, I kept adjusting shoulder strap positioning to prevent awkward costume slips during highlight moments. Participating in the Genshin Impact Creator Incentive Program gave me the opportunity to document this state; without needing flashy effects, genuine water reflections and abundant lighting created maximum summer atmosphere.

Summer is all about playing in the water—you don't necessarily have to go to the beach, as an outdoor swimming pool nearby can yield fantastic ambiance. Compared to artificial studio lights, I personally prefer authentic outdoor sunlight—even if the wig absorbed heat, it was totally worth it for great photos.
