[Sorasaki Hina Cosplay] The Kivotos Disciplinary Committee Head's Maid Outfit

After the Firefly ACG Expo wrapped up, I organized a set of photos in the maid outfit, and now I can finally sync all the shooting details and feelings with everyone.

This time I chose Sorasaki Hina's maid outfit from Blue Archive. Differing from her usual Disciplinary Committee Head attire in-game, this maid outfit blends Hina's unique cool aloofness while adding cute styling details. Styling pure white long hair was more effort-intensive than imagined; whether fluffiness and smooth hair flow would render well on camera was my biggest worry before the shoot. Luckily, the hairstylist was fantastic—the final silver-white tone fit the cool ambient environment perfectly, maxing out the atmospheric vibe.

The costume design itself boasts distinctive features. The main black-and-white Anime maid outfit features a deep crimson bow at the neckline, with iconic XX cross-straps across the chest that preserve her original recognition while fitting neatly within the maid framework. White ruffled layers stacked on the skirt, with a red heart at the waist acting as the finishing touch that softens the high-cold impression of the black, white, and purple palette with a playful touch. Securing the intricate horn headpiece required balance—keeping it firm without being too tight—so I had to adjust its placement occasionally during shooting while turning my head and hunting for angles to prevent tilting.

Another major highlight of this shoot was the pair of wing props on my back. The deep purple demon-style wings with bright yellow tips created immense visual impact when unfolded. In standing poses, the photographer had me straighten my posture with arms hanging naturally or slightly raised, leveraging the wings to broaden horizontal visual proportions and make up for traditional maid outfits potentially lacking aura. For seated shots on a white folding stool, I could naturally cross my legs, paired with deep blue tights and black platform patent leather shoes to visibly elongate lower-limb lines. The shoe strap design looked striking in close-ups, adding edge refinement.

Speaking of the venue, this was shot at the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo where daytime natural light poured through giant glass curtain walls, creating clean illumination. Despite heavy foot traffic, the photographer found great angles and focal lengths, thoroughly blurring the background into a curtain of light and shadow. The smooth mirror-like floor raised early worries about reflection bloopers, but faint reflections in final photos unexpectedly enhanced spatial depth—a stroke of good luck!

Wearing long stockings and platform shoes while walking and posing at the Guangzhou Anime Convention tested physical endurance and balance. The wing props, though looking light, easily shifted my center of gravity forward or backward if seated or standing carelessly. I almost lost balance once during the shoot, giving myself a fright, but a friend nearby caught me just in time. This is the real side behind cosplay: stunning final photos are built on repeated attempts, prop adjustments, and reshaping character understanding.

As Kivotos's Disciplinary Committee Head, Sorasaki Hina carries strong responsibility and combat prowess; wearing this maid outfit, I tried blending her \"usually stern, but occasionally letting her guard down\" gap charm into my expressions. Rather than forcing a dominant stance, I kept a quiet, detached, yet focused state. Side-facing shots especially conveyed her composed demeanor through naturally resting hands.

Meeting many fans at the convention who recognized the character provided warmth that fuels my journey—this offline connection cannot be replaced by online editing or typing. For me, cosplay isn't just wearing an outfit; it's using one's body and camera lens to recreate a living character silhouette from the digital world. Each photo set deepens my connection to original designs.

I am quite satisfied with the color grading of this set, preserving a cool blue-and-white palette for a clean, textured look. Hope this set presents a Sorasaki Hina with a unique touch. From outfit prep to on-site shooting, working over two or three days was exhausting, but seeing final photos wiped away all fatigue. Detailed craftsmanship, accessory coordination, and overall mood control will surely leave a lasting impression. More conventions are on the way, and I look forward to trying new characters next time to bring even more diverse states to life.
