This time, I'm bringing a bunny girl style Cosplay photoshoot of Laffey cosplay from Azur Lane. To highlight the garment's texture, the photoshoot was set in a seamless pure-white cyc studio without distracting background elements. The lighting was balanced and even, keeping the focus squarely on the subject's silhouette and costume details. When I first got this outfit, the most eye-catching piece was definitely the high-cut blue-and-white bodysuit. Its fabric possesses a distinct metallic sheen that catches and refracts the studio lights dynamically with every movement; thus, during shooting, I deliberately turned my body to show off the lustrous fabric at its best. The layering included a white off-the-shoulder capelet paired with oversized detached sleeves. The row of fluffy white pom-poms lining the cuffs is a signature focal point of this look—swaying playfully with every step or arm lift to create a spirited visual effect. Because the sleeves are quite voluminous, I had to mind the span of my arms during poses to avoid obscuring the blue front panel of the bodysuit, essentially keeping my upper arms anchored at specific angles.
The bunny ear headband and blue sailor-style headpiece atop my head are essential to recreating the original look, paired with long, wavy silver-white hair styled into twin tails. Capturing the layered dimension of a white wig against a white backdrop is actually quite tricky, as it tends to blend into the background. Therefore, the hairstylist added volume and texture to the crown and tips, which, complemented by rim-lighting from the side, allowed the hair to stand out crisply in the frame. For makeup, reddish-pink tones were chosen for both eyeshadow and blush to match the overall anime style, ensuring facial coloring remained vibrant without washing out under strong studio lighting.
The large dark-gray serving tray held in my hand served as a crucial prop for this shoot. While I initially assumed it was lightweight plastic, holding it in reality carried quite a bit of heft—especially when holding various tray-serving poses where my arm had to stay suspended mid-air under tension while keeping my core engaged to maintain fluid, stretched body lines. By the end of the set, my arm muscles felt thoroughly worked out! Nonetheless, having a prop meant my hands never felt awkward, and the circular geometry of the tray harmonized beautifully with the frame's composition. Because the high-cut cut of the outfit is paired with White stockings, visual weight naturally concentrates on the lower body; thus, during shooting, I utilized many poses like lifting one leg or turning sideways to accentuate the lithe lines and lightness of the legs. Throughout this process, preventing the White stockings from looking flat against the pure white backdrop relied on bending and flexing my legs to generate subtle variations in light and shadow.
The overall costume features an abundance of details—bunny plush charms, lace trims, and pom-poms. To keep the frame from feeling cluttered, opening up the range of motion slightly created much more breathing room within the composition. When shooting such a vibrant, color-blocked (blue-and-white) and detail-heavy styling against a pure white background, the greatest challenge is preserving the subject's dimensional depth; slacking even slightly on posture causes the image to fall flat. Throughout the session, I strove to strike a balance between the attentive service vibe of holding a tray and the playful demeanor of a Soft and cute bunny. After the final photos of this Cosplay photoshoot were delivered, the reflective fabric texture and the silver luster of the wig completely lived up to expectations, while the tray served as an interactive prop that enriched the visual narrative. Bringing this look to life for Laffey cosplay in Azur Lane certainly took immense physical stamina, but the resulting photos are deeply satisfying.
