When I first got this maid outfit cosplay in a bunny girl style, I felt that the design was very rich. The black and white plaid paired with black lace and plush trim, along with a pair of huge black bunny ears on the head, already gave off a strong anime flavor visually. However, to wear this outfit with a natural and everyday life feel, a lot of thought went into matching the scenes.

When communicating with the photographer before the shoot, we decided to abandon that highly deliberate, forced-posing studio style, and instead authentically borrowed a home environment with an everyday atmosphere. The first half of the photos was mainly shot in the kitchen area, where the orange wooden cabinets and stainless steel oven provided a very warm color base. I think this warm-toned lighting pairs exceptionally well with black-and-white clothing, making the skin tone appear very translucent, and the black tights outfit stands out even more with its texture against the wooden tabletop background.

In fact, the details of this outfit really test one's patience with styling. For example, the black choker and pearl decorations on the neck needed to be adjusted to a position where they wouldn't choke me but also wouldn't slip off easily. The detached sleeves on the arms have metal clasps, and to ensure smooth arm lines during the shoot, the position of the cuffs needed to be adjusted from time to time. Although those plush bunny ears were the crowning touch, their weight actually exceeded my expectations. To prevent them from falling backward, I had to constantly mind the center of gravity of my head during the shoot. You could say that a good cosplay costume might look nice, but wearing it is actually a battle of balance between physical stamina and image presentation.

In the first set of kitchen scenes, I tried a few different sitting postures. At first, I sat cross-legged, mimicking that natural posture when being alone at home. The photographer used a slightly lower angle, which not only fully displayed the leg lines of the black tights outfit but also brought the oven and the red brick wall in the background into the frame. Honestly, when doing these slightly sexier poses, your expression needs to be relaxed rather than tense, or else it easily looks forced. My favorite composition is the one where I hold that glass of amber liquid; with the prop involved, the whole image gains interactive tension, the extension of the legs becomes more stretched out, and the light hitting the legs forms a beautiful soft transition, making the texture of the black tights outfit look particularly delicate.

For the second half of the shoot, we moved our base to the living room. The light mint-green sofa in the living room became a very beautiful bright background in the entire set of photos, making the black-and-white plaid and the pink wig stand out beautifully. After switching to the sofa scene, I brought out a beige-brown teddy bear plushie. This prop was a huge plus; the fluffy texture of the plushie echoed perfectly with the plush decorations on my clothing, adding a touch of girlish cuteness and playfulness to the picture.

For the postures on the sofa, I chose to kneel sideways or rest my legs. Since the sofa is quite large, my body could sink into it more relaxedly. In this environment with a strong sense of home, my eyes didn't need to stare directly at the lens; looking slightly dazed or casting a gaze to the side actually reflected a lazy and casual atmosphere. In the final photo, light streamed directly through the window and the archway, hitting my hair to form a gorgeous rim light. Although this backlit scene carried a slight risk of overexposure, the final presentation had a very translucent feel, characteristic of Japanese-style portraiture.

As the shutter sounds gradually quieted down, the entire shooting process came to a perfect conclusion. Although organizing the plush accessories and constantly adjusting the skirt hem was indeed a bit tiring, seeing the soft tones and light in the final images, along with the comfortable state I presented overall, made me feel that this attempt at a maid outfit cosplay and bunny girl photo truly captured the vibe I wanted. Without complex special effects or exaggerated backgrounds, integrating elements of anime-style photography into the daily kitchen and living room environments—this authentic sense of life is probably the closest thing to everyday cuteness in maid-ism.
