For this angel-form Rem cosplay project, ever since deciding to shoot a dreamy feel against a blue-purple background, the selection of costumes and props has been continuously streamlined. To express the purity of an angel, I chose this pure white dress with plenty of lace and ruffles, opting for lightweight and thin materials so that it creates an ethereal feeling when moving. The headpiece took the most effort; to create a lightweight, floating halo effect, I tried several materials, finally choosing fine feathers wrapped around thin wire. Combined with the on-site lighting, the captured effect blends seamlessly into the background without appearing too bulky. The wings are white feathered wings; I adjusted the tightness of the straps to ensure a good spreading angle while preventing the shoulders from looking too wide, keeping the overall proportions more coordinated. The blue wig is trimmed to closely fit the face shape, with the bangs in front of the forehead given a slight airy treatment, and the eye makeup is subtly adjusted to pink tones to match the overall style, enlarging the eyes while retaining Rem's original touch of innocence. This time we shot at Kumi Studio, and their set design is truly amazing. The white vintage miniature carriage prop paired with the plush carpet fits this theme perfectly. During the shoot, to emphasize overall softness, the lighting used relatively soft diffuse light, making the blue-purple gradient background extremely translucent without harsh shadows. Sitting barefoot on the plush carpet is actually quite comfortable, but it also took time to adjust postures to ensure good leg lines and overall composition. One set of photos focused on close-ups of the feet; the red bow ribbon tied around the ankle is a small highlight, adding a visual focal point to the pure white pairing and making the frame less monotonous. Photographer Kallen is exceptionally skilled at candid capturing; the pose guidance given allowed me to get into character very quickly. From the well-behaved look of resting my chin on my hands while staring into the lens, to the lazy vibe of lying sideways on the carpet, and the pure-yet-alluring feel of the foot close-ups, every single shot captured the exact atmosphere I wanted—the feeling of "there will be an angel to love you in my stead." During post-processing, some starlight special effects were added to the background, the blue-purple gradient was adjusted to be softer, and after adding handwritten English letters, the overall photobook texture came to life. From costume tailoring to the matching of overall color tones, every detail aims to convey this ethereal feeling. The concept of Angel Rem is truly fascinating, retaining her original gentle traits while adding an extra layer of sacred purity. Throughout the shooting process, I was also constantly communicating with the photographer on how to adjust the chin angle and the direction of the gaze to make every photo as visually striking as possible. When seeing the final photos, I felt that all the early preparation and trial-and-error were worth it. Which photo's state do you like the best?
