The detailing on this white-and-purple color-blocked costume is exceptionally refined, especially the tassels on the obi belt and the purple floral accents on the cuffs, which shimmer subtly under the lights. The fabric has an excellent drape yet carries a substantial overall weight, keeping my center of gravity steady once worn, which actually helped in maintaining stable body postures. Because the character design embodies a powerful presence wrapped in gentleness, I deliberately adjusted my gaze, attempting a focused, forward-staring expression without forcing a sweet smile during the shoot, hoping instead to capture that calm and resolute emotional depth.
Expression management took considerable effort this time as well. Conveying beauty and strength isn't about acting cold, but rather projecting inner resilience. For instance, when gripping the katana, the pressure in the fingertips had to be precisely controlled—neither too rigid nor lacking strength. Paired with White stockings, the leg lines extending from beneath the skirt hem were rendered softer under the sculpted lighting. The shooting location featured wisteria flowers and wooden architectural structures as its core, cultivating a quiet, woodland-like ambiance. To complement this luminous transparency, the photographer adjusted the strobe output, utilizing a wide aperture to achieve background blur and creating a sharp contrast between the foreground white blossoms and the cold steel blade.
The subsequent recumbent shots actually tested my physical flexibility quite a bit. The hair strands had to harmonize with the flowing movement of the frame, meaning even a slight angle shift required re-styling. The flooring was made of wood; because the skirt hem was extremely long, crouching and sitting postures demanded constant vigilance against carpet pulling to prevent wardrobe malfunctions or ruining the garment silhouette. The entire session lasted about three hours, wrapping up only as dusk fell. Overall, this shoot brought me a profound sense of accomplishment, as every different styling and motion attempted to faithfully restore that dual texture of gentleness and fierce strength inherent to the character.
The pairing of White stockings was also one of the focal points of this styling. The material of the white stockings required careful handling to avoid overexposure under direct lighting; diffuse, flat lighting proved better for showcasing fine details, so the photographer placed a reflector on the side to give the leg contours stronger three-dimensional depth. Especially in seated poses, the extension of the leg lines was phenomenal, and paired with the long sword, this cold, hard weapon formed a striking visual contrast against the soft fabrics. Throughout the entire shoot, to discover the most natural state, we experimented with several ways of holding the sword. Sometimes the hilt pressed against the palm, other times gripped with a hovering hold; though exhausting, these details directly dictated the visual tension of the frame.
