[Reze cosplay] Chainsaw Man: Street Atmosphere Record at CPG08

This Reze cosplay shoot on location at CPG08 coincided perfectly with the softest outdoor light of the day. The convention saw heavy foot traffic, so to maximize the rate of successful shots, the photographer deliberately chose a wide-aperture lens. Utilizing streetlights and architectural contours in the background to create organic bokeh, we blurred away the crowded convention surroundings while preserving the overarching Atmosphere.

Regarding wardrobe preparation, the white collared shirt paired with a wide black tie is her signature look—ordinary yet tinged with latent danger—while the choker accentuates a slender neck line. The black shorts and black over-the-knee Stockings on the bottom half are central to this styling; the snug contour and texture of the Stockings flatter leg length, pairing with black chunky-heeled platform shoes to visually elongate proportions. The golden chain on the shoulder bag also contributed refined detail.

The first pose sitting on the suitcase was an impromptu idea on site, using the suitcase's handle bars as leading lines in the frame: one leg stretched out, the other slightly bent. This stance prevented the legs from looking stiff and, combined with the white blossom held in hand, evoked a breezy sense of casual waiting. The second close-up shot focused on setting emotional tone; focused eyes and a slight tilt of the head lent the frame a narrative depth. The third over-the-shoulder look with legs crossed put lower back stamina to the test, requiring my upper body to twist around so the back curve and bent legs created dynamic contrast, while the bouquet naturally concealed the strap to clean up the composition. The fourth pose lounging on a white folding chair was the most relaxed: extending both legs forward naturally is the most foolproof posture for leg lines, clearly highlighting body proportions.

Synergy with the photographer was also vital throughout the shoot. Since the lighting at CPG08 consisted of diffuse ambient reflections, light was relatively even; the photographer provided fill light during backlit angles, making silhouettes crisper and skin tones more luminous. The white flower prop is also a deeply memorable motif from the original design, injecting a high-brightness white highlight into a predominantly monochrome palette to elevate the visual tone.

Cosplaying at an expo demands considerable physical stamina, and because this outfit requires constant mindfulness of poise, maintaining clean leg lines and upright seated postures was crucial for the final photos. In post-production, we preserved an overall cool, cyan-tinted palette, accentuating the character's detached, aloof temperament. After wrapping up, the photographer and I sat curbside reviewing the raw files, and I felt the interplay of light, shadow, and captured demeanor truly matched the texture I wanted to express. The on-site shooting flowed seamlessly, resulting in a thoroughly rewarding Anime-style photography journey.
