For this shoot, I chose Remielle from Zenless Zone Zero. This costume features an intricate array of layers, making the dressing process quite elaborate. The upper half is anchored by a black leather corset detailed with silver metallic buckles, layered over a white collared shirt with a necktie and semi-sheer black lantern sleeves. The silhouette is exceptionally form-fitting, demanding meticulous adjustments while dressing to achieve the ideal fit. The wig is a short pink bob with blunt bangs, flanked on both sides by red-and-black bowknots. For makeup, I deliberately intensified the eye makeup, wore pink contact lenses, and drew a black star accent on my right cheek; paired with pointed elf ears, the overall visual impact immediately came to life.
The set design at Taotao Studio resonated impeccably with the atmosphere of this attire. Cascading crystal bead curtains, a colossal chandelier, and a dark-brown vintage carved leather sofa—complemented by a reflective marble floor—instantly unlocked high-end tactile richness the moment the cool-toned lighting fell. The first sequence was staged against metal railing bars, featuring a pronounced body lean that heavily tested core strength to maintain stability while gripping the handrail and keeping facial composure steady. The black jagged, serrated ribbons flanking the skirt flutter dynamically in motion; we shot multiple consecutive takes to freeze their movement at its peak aesthetic.
For the seated frames on the sofa, the focus shifted toward bodily elongation. I wore sheer black stockings paired with strappy high heels. To flatter the leg lines before the camera, I continuously finessed my seated posture—naturally crossing my legs or extending them forward while resting my hands effortlessly on the armrest or lap, maintaining a languid yet commanding presence. The corset design sharply sculpted the waistline, though wearing it for extended periods felt constricting, requiring brief moments of decompression between takes.
When capturing a dark gothic character, the dramatic tension of body language matters far more than mere facial expression. The photographer and I communicated continuously regarding camera placement and perspectives, using the crystal bead curtains as foreground bokeh to heighten compositional depth. Lighting relied primarily on cool-white key sources paired with selective warm fill lights, creating sharp chiaroscuro contrast. Navigating high heels across sofas and steps while monitoring the alignment of the wig and accessories was physically demanding, but the team's seamless professionalism made the synergy effortless. Every shutter click polished our character interpretation and on-camera presence—it was an immensely satisfying photoshoot.
