This time, I recreated Alice from Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Before the shoot, I had been looking forward to the texture of this highly reflective leather jacket for a long time, and its fit and glossiness after actually putting it on definitely exceeded my expectations. To present a well-curved body proportion, the pattern was adjusted several times, especially the heart-shaped hollow-out position and the stitching at the joints. Paired with the white and pink sports jacket, it blends the character's innocent romance and combat-ready sharpness into the same frame.
For the makeup, I tried a high-saturation combination of pink and red tones, paired with matching colored contacts to give my gaze a stronger focus. The wig strands were styled with quite a few layers, displaying a natural luster under the lights. The outdoor location chosen this time was a graffiti space with a rich street and Cyberpunk style; large blue and purple backdrops, along with scattered industrial props like orange iron barrels, caution tape, and wooden crates, beautifully bring out Alice's dual temperament of being in a state of combat readiness or casual relaxation.
During the shoot, I communicated a lot with the photographer about the details of light reflection. Because of the glossy surface of the leather jacket, the reflection was extremely intense; a slight misalignment in angle or an overly strong light source could easily cause heavy facial shadows or overexpose the clothes. We ran multiple tests on the camera's exposure parameters and finally selected this lighting scheme that combines side-backlighting with front fill-light. This not only guaranteed the highly reflective leather jacket texture but also allowed the face to present a soft skin tone, making the color of the red contacts look especially vivid under the light.
Although the prop rifle was made of lightweight materials, the detailed painting was highly refined, and the pink-and-white color-blocking suited the entire set of movements perfectly. In terms of poses, I attempted a fully focused standing posture holding the rifle, as well as a relaxed posture sitting on an oil drum chatting casually, trying to showcase different facets of Alice's personality across various scenes through the contrast in actions. The post-production style was relatively restrained, avoiding excessive skin smoothing or intense color shifts to preserve the ambient feel brought by the on-site lights, giving the entire set a style leaning towards realism and texture. Actually, besides the highly reflective leather jacket, the tiny sequins on the fishnet stockings are also a detail easily overlooked; during the shoot, we needed to use ambient reflections to make these small highlights shimmer in the frame. This was a challenge in character recreation and an exploration of polishing specific material textures through Anime-style photography.
