This trip to Comicup 31 was prepared entirely for the Primal Challenge. When I won the qualification slot back then, I began organizing this offline journey without hesitation. To fit the character's image, I specifically prepared this off-white lace dress packed with details, featuring tiered skirt ruffles alongside extensive strappings and hollowed-out designs. Considering the need to operate a mouse and keyboard during the offline raid, I slightly streamlined and secured the gloves and sleeves, pairing light-colored shoes with dark boot covers. This preserved the character's overall temperament while ensuring uninhibited hand movement for the live battle.
Upon arriving at the booth, the pink-purple neon signs, massive screens, and lined-up gaming rigs instantly hyped everyone up. My teammates for the session turned out to be all girls; everyone was slightly shy when first meeting, but as soon as we sat down to test equipment and discuss jobs, we immediately bonded as close comrades-in-arms. Dressed in unique cosplay outfits with exquisite makeup, everyone stood ready before their monitors.
The raiding process was far more joyful than anticipated. Our coordination was remarkably smooth; whenever encountering slightly complex mechanics, people would tap their keyboards while shouting 'it's coming, it's coming!', reminding each other about positioning and mechanic resolution. Despite being offline amid a noisy environment, putting on the headset focused my attention entirely on the gameplay display. The girls on the team performed solidly, resolving key mechanics cleanly while maintaining steady party HP bars.
The moment we cleared it, our all-girl team secured a smooth victory, exchanging high-fives excitedly as we watched the settlement screen. This experience of fighting side by side face-to-face offline is completely distinct from raiding over voice chat online. You can directly witness teammates' expressions and hear their cheers; such genuine feedback and emotional resonance cannot be fully felt across network cables.
After the event, I held a cute brown plush doll to take check-in photos at the booth and restaurant. Looking at myself in the delicate lace dress, this journey felt entirely worthwhile. From costume prep and team synergy to the offline trial, the Primal Challenge tested accumulated game knowledge while introducing me to so many lovely girls. There was zero stress—only the pure happiness of enjoying the game together. Sitting in the car that night, the raid banter still echoed in my mind. I want to play Final Fantasy XIV cosplay-level adventures for a lifetime! This passion for the game and fellow fans will surely carry forward.
