The focus of this FFXIV cosplay revolves around a Final Fantasy XIV Dragon girl cosplay (FFXIV OC). The core of the entire look lies in the layered vintage color palette and highly recognizable facial details. I chose a color-blocked contrast of dark brown and off-white as the main palette. The outer dark corset vest with vertical lacing nicely accents the body's silhouette. The inner layer is a white blouse with delicate ruffles and lace cuffs, and the brown bow tie at the neckline serves as a fine accent, balancing visually with the dominant dark tones.
For the headdress, an exaggerated layered bow accessory was used; the white lace along the edges contrasts beautifully with the brown-black fabric, complementing the wavy black long hair to create a striking visual impact. To stay true to the dragon girl lore—because Dragon girls are the best!—I specifically drew abstract black facial markings under the eyes and on the cheeks, paired with dark reddish contact lenses to enhance the character's mysterious aura. The black horn ornaments extending from both sides of the head also add character tension to the silhouette.
This shoot took place in a dining spot with a strong themed atmosphere. The interior decor is distinctive, featuring a message wall filled with multi-colored sticky notes bearing various nicknames and greetings in the background. Scattered around are acrylic standees and posters of 2D characters, which integrated seamlessly into the shooting scene and gave the photos an interactive feeling of an offline event.
During the shoot, I teamed up with another cosplayer who wore a look featuring long pink wavy hair with bunny ears. She wore a white blouse and a black fitted vest accented with a slender black ribbon at the neckline, along with small yellow flowers tucked into her hair, creating a refreshing and clean style. We documented this cafe visit through both solo poses and dual composite photos—such as holding up a phone for selfies or side shots seated at the wooden dining table with a fruit ice cream bowl—all feeling very natural.
Props on the dining table also added plenty of realistic everyday feel: a hot dog with salad, a specialty mocktail with gradient blue layering and whipped cream, and a generous glass bowl of fruit ice cream. During shooting, we tried diverse angles such as holding a phone while looking into the lens, posing sideways with hand gestures, or close-ups in an upright seated position. These varied compositions cleanly displayed every detail of this outfit.
Since this is a Final Fantasy XIV FFXIV OC, we gave the styling a more everyday touch, allowing this dark-toned dress to showcase its rich texture under the warm wooden ambient lighting of the themed cafe. In the final photos, the layers of the corset and lace cuffs are distinct, and the facial markings maintain a balanced three-dimensional depth under ambient light. This entire process, from character concept to finished shots, truly made this FFXIV cosplay sharing rewarding and enjoyable.
