In capturing this Ryuge Kisaki cosplay look from Blue Archive, the core focus lay in mastering the costume nuances and overarching presence. The outfit is a sleeveless modified navy-blue Qipao woven with subtle jacquard patterns; the golden dragon embroidery across the chest is exceptionally exquisite, exuding a luxurious texture when worn. Blue-purple floral hair accessories subtly accentuated the odango double-bun hairstyle. Seated on a traditional Chinese wooden chair during the shoot, the angle of the long sidelocks and overall posture required deliberate adjustments to recreate the character's distinct aura.
In terms of makeup, to align with character lore, I applied reddish lower eyeshadow and matched the contact lens color. Pairing Black stockings with the Qipao was another signature feature of this ensemble; however, when posing on the chair, leg placement required caution to avoid snags or unsightly creases. Since the costume is form-fitting and Black stockings are demanding on leg definition, I paid close attention to posture and physique control prior to the shoot.
The entire process was quite enjoyable, especially those casual moments adjusting my hair, which the photographer captured with impeccable timing. For lighting, an expansive spread of soft white light was used, lending the skin a translucent, luminous texture while naturally bringing out the rosy undertones of the facial makeup. The fabric's subtle patterns and golden dragon embroidery required tailored post-processing to bring out their dimensional depth; I also asked the retoucher to perform necessary refinements to enhance hair luster while preserving my natural facial features.
We avoided intricate sets for this session, as a pure-white seamless background allowed viewers to focus purely on the subject. We shifted through diverse poses; the semi-reclining pose in photo one was especially suited to showcasing bodily curves and the tailored cut of the Qipao. All in all, this was a smooth and satisfying photoshoot experience; though preparing the wardrobe and props demanded meticulous dedication, seeing the final outcome made it all thoroughly worthwhile in this Ryuge Kisaki cosplay endeavor.
