[Liv cosplay] Punishing: Gray Raven, Keeping the Appointment in the Name of the Commandant

Looking back at the convention photos from this Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo, I organized and am sharing this set of Liv cosplay photos from Punishing: Gray Raven.
This time, I tried a dark Gothic style outfit, with black as the main color tone, paired with a silver-white wig with straight bangs. The costume uses a fabric with a subtle sheen; the neckline features a high white collar spliced with a black bow design, offering rich layering. The top part is a classic corset cut, with silver-gray metal buttons arranged on the front of the waist, which, combined with the harness structure, perfectly highlights the waistline. A lot of thought went into the cuff design, incorporating drop-shoulder ruffle elements, while the ends of the cuffs extend into mesh lace and black borders, preserving a touch of delicacy amidst the outfit's structured look.
The butterfly wings on the back are actually the soul of this look, supported by a black skeleton, with the wing surface painted in a cyan and bright gold gradient. Under the cool white lighting of the exhibition hall, they reflect a beautiful holographic texture. The skirt cut also features multi-layered ruffled splices, so even with the appearance of a Gothic gown, it doesn't restrict movement flexibility.
For props, I carried a highly restored long-handled staff; the grip is wrapped with white bandage patterns, and the top features a design combining cyan-gray and bronze metallic textures. Navigating the convention with such a large prop was indeed not easy, but fortunately, the grip and poses during the shoot were spot on.
For the makeup, I adjusted the proportion of the brows and eyes to match the wig, applying a large area of reddish pink-orange eyeshadow, paired with light-colored colored contacts, making the gaze look colder and deeper. Combined with the face-framing effect of the airy bangs, I'm quite satisfied with the overall restoration of the look.
The environment on the day of the convention was actually quite noisy, but we happened to find a shooting spot with a background wall featuring a regular arrangement of blue dots and vertical light strips. The color temperature of the lighting perfectly matched this black-and-white outfit. The photographer was very patient in guiding me during the shoot. From sitting upright holding the staff to standing with it, and then trying a few interactive poses reaching out my hand, I tried my best to capture the calm and composed state of the character in battle or daily life.
"No matter what happens, do not forget me" is a very memorable line among the character's quotes. During the process of portraying her, constantly contemplating her state of mind is the only way to convey that unique gentleness and determination through the lens. Actually, many fellow fans at the venue recognized this look at a glance, and our enthusiastic exchanges made me feel that the atmosphere at the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo was indeed wonderful. The weight of the props combined with running around on a hot day was physically draining, but being able to bring a character I prepared for so long to life and record it through photos is inherently meaningful. The photos from this collaboration retain the texture of the original shots, and the lighting treatment gives the black fabric a nice sense of dimension. I hope to have the opportunity to continue trying this kind of story-rich character in the future.
