At this Anime convention, I shot this photo set of C.C. from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, centered on collaborating with the photographer to strike dynamic poses filled with visual tension. The costume is custom-tailored from deep blue fabric adorned with gold embroidery and chains, with the gown's slit design perfectly showcasing leg lines. To complement the styling, I wore black lace-up platform high heels; while they looked stunning, standing in them for a prolonged time caused distinct aching on the instep. The straight green long wig paired with golden hair ornaments required constant attention so as not to obstruct my line of sight.
What satisfied me most about this shoot was capturing that so-called "flying" sensation. To present a mid-air hovering posture, I had to balance on elevated footing with my entire body tensed, not only straightening my leg lines but also controlling the gentle arch of my outstretched arms to keep the silhouette feeling light and effortless. The third full-body photo was particularly successful: with the subject centered, the backward-leaning pose combined with the billowing blue skirt hem created a striking visual. The overhead ceiling lights at the Anime convention formed circular bokeh, while a wide aperture blurred out background clutter, allowing fair skin tones to appear even more luminous against the cool-toned ambiance.
In post-processing, I intentionally dialed down color saturation so the overall teal and blue palette felt colder and more aloof, aligning with the character's temperament. The golden chains across the chest and waist reflected strongly under harsh convention lighting, requiring repeated angle adjustments during shooting to prevent overexposure. The shoot demanded substantial physical stamina, needing meticulous control over every detail from standing poses to suspended mid-air postures. Finger curves and the distant, aloof quality of my gaze were all refined through repeated practice. Amidst numerous convention photos, this set gracefully presents the garment textures and the character's essence. The trickiest part of an Anime convention Convention photo is securing good spots; this shoot leveraged great glass to foreground the subject while minimizing passersby. Putting on this outfit means doing justice to the character. Despite the bustling crowd, fully immersing myself in this cosplay experience made every bit of effort worthwhile.
