Today I shot the outdoor cosplay for Roxy at Mount Siguniang; the temperature was lower than expected, and the wind was very strong. To restore the feeling of eating snacks in the wild, I sat on a large rock holding a small bread, adjusting my breathing while cooperating with the photographer's candid shots. The ultraviolet rays at high altitude are extremely strong, coupled with the howling wind, making the wig very easy to frizz. Before setting off, I purposely used a lot of setting spray to layer and style the light blue wig, especially the sideburns and bangs parts, which had to be fixed with hair gel to prevent looking messy in front of the lens. The brim of the witch hat is very large, and it easily flips backward when the wind blows. I added two invisible bobby pins on the inside of the hat, fixing them directly to the wig net cap, so it wouldn't mess up even with strong winds.

This costume has quite a few details. The beige cape fabric wrinkles easily, so outdoors I tried not to lean against tree trunks, choosing flat rocks instead and placing a light-colored cloth underneath. Black stockings and white boots are the highlights of this styling, but wearing high-heeled boots in such a wild environment actually tests balance quite a bit. Sitting on the rock, I tried to lower my center of gravity as much as possible and crossed my legs, which not only showcased leg lines but also maintained posture stability, avoiding slipping on the rocks. The metal buckles and white leather on the boots reflect light easily under the scorching sun. During the shoot, we avoided the midday overhead light, choosing a time slot in the afternoon when the light was slightly softer, using the hat's brim to create natural shadows on the face, making the facial orange blush and eye makeup look more dimensional.

To match the character's slightly air-headed yet focused-on-eating state, I not only prepared bread as a prop, but also designed details in actions. Instead of actually eating it, I bit a small piece, maintaining the expression of chewing or gazing into the distance. Sitting in front of a background interwoven with snowy mountains and grasslands, with the wind howling loudly, the photographer had to shout commands out loud. In the first photo, I chose to look up into the distance, which can elongate the neck line and make the gaze look more narrative; in the second photo, I lowered my head and slightly closed my eyes, presenting a relaxed state immersed in deliciousness.

Outdoor cosplay tests coping with sudden weather and terrain the most. The grassy slopes here look beautiful, but walking on them involves stepping deep and shallow, requiring extra care when moving around with props like a staff. Shooting in the high-altitude region, we had to stop to rest and replenish water every once in a while to prevent exhaustion from affecting facial expressions. Although the process was somewhat tiring, seeing the sunlight sprinkled on the cape in the final photos, with the pure white boots echoing the distant snowy mountains, all fatigue vanished into thin air. The texture of this natural light and shadow is hard to replicate in a studio. Being able to bring a favorite character into real natural scenery is in itself a very interesting experience. I hope this character cosplay photography work can present that side of the character during her journey.
