Today's shoot featuring Sunna's Swimsuit cosplay was finally wrapped up with great success! The weather was extraordinarily cooperative, with glorious sunshine dancing over the pool's glistening surface. To capture the character's crystalline, refreshing charm, considerable effort was invested into hair and makeup. The wig featured mint green twintails; to withstand outdoor breezes, I applied strong-hold styling products to ensure the hair maintained its airy volume and crisp curvature before the lens without turning disheveled in the wind. For accessories, I picked blue geometric hair clips alongside a black hair pin stamped with heart motifs—never slacking on small details. The eye makeup specifically utilized light blue contacts paired with soft petal-pink lip gloss, aiming to channel that clear, translucent character aura.
For the wardrobe, I chose a classic navy blue one-piece school swimsuit. This cut is genuinely demanding on body shape, fitting snugly against the skin while requiring constant vigilance during movement to guard against wardrobe slips. To build dynamic layers, the styling incorporated pink-and-white striped arm warmers, paired with over-the-knee white Stockings adorned with pink garter straps around the thighs, ensuring the look remained vibrant while channeling the character's signature cuteness. On my back was a small pink backpack dotted with black polka dots on the sides and finished with a pair of white wing ornaments. The overarching ensemble presented a vivid chromatic clash: navy, pastel pink-and-white, and mint green popped magnificently beneath the summer sun.
Shooting along the water's edge was physically taxing. Specular glares from the water surface easily blew out facial highlights, so I constantly recalibrated my angles while the photographer used a circular polarizer to suppress reflections. Figure 1 shows a cross-legged seated pose on the pool deck—my favorite stance, as it organically flatters leg contours and the white Stockings while pointing a finger to the cheek to inject a playful charm. Figure 2 also features a seated cross-legged pose, but with hands folded quietly in front and the torso leaning forward slightly, conveying an obedient sweetness while clearly highlighting the school swimsuit's tailoring and the boundary line of the over-the-knee stockings. Figure 3 shifts to kneeling in the shallow water, raising a hand in a crisp salute. The tiled pool floor caused slight soreness when kneeling for extended periods, yet capturing that refreshing sense of being semi-submerged in the water made every bit of discomfort worthwhile.
Regarding the material of this school swimsuit, the fabric was pleasantly dense and showed zero transparency once wet, offering immense peace of mind. White over-the-knee socks are prone to getting soaked at the poolside, so during shooting breaks I was exceptionally vigilant about keeping them spotless, wiping away moisture immediately to prevent looking messy on camera. The pink backpack secretly housed touch-up essentials and blotting sheets; under outdoor heat coupled with pool humidity, makeup easily slips and demands prompt touch-ups to preserve pristine definition. Furthermore, because the swimsuit is form-fitting, smoothing down the edges when sitting or standing was essential to avoid awkward bunching that might compromise aesthetic harmony.
Though the entire shoot was exhausting, bringing Sunna's swimsuit look to life in such an idyllic, crisp environment felt immensely rewarding. The color coordination and faithful recreation of details hit every expectation, serving as a gratifying testament to my efforts.
