Receiving the final photos from this shoot brings a lot of thoughts to mind. The original intention behind this creation was to find a tranquil Zen space to convey a pure, restrained visual aesthetic.

The shooting location was chosen inside a circular domed art space, where a massive skylight served as the sole light source. The lighting that day was exceptional; natural light poured down from the skylight, creating soft, uniform diffused reflections across the curved concrete walls and subtly reflective tiled floor. Photographer Chocolate (choco) used a Fujifilm GFX100II paired with the classic CLASSIC CHROME film simulation. The immense resolving power of a medium format camera offered undeniable advantages in this spacious, minimalist setting—not only capturing rich details, but also rendering delicate transitions of light and shadow with exceptional clarity, infusing the images with a cinematic texture in this Anime-style photography.

I primarily aimed to convey a cool, ethereal presence for this Traditional Chinese style look. The cyan-green headpieces and waist-length wavy black wig created a refined visual contrast against the flowing white robe trimmed in green. The skirt is made of sheer gauze with wonderful drape and breathability; to complement this seated meditation posture, I carefully spread the hem across the tiles to create a natural triangular composition, while showcasing the emerald tassels and dragon-scale-like trim along the skirt—a truly exquisite piece of craftsmanship in Arknights cosplay.

What captivated me most in this scene was the massive white artificial tree and the white monk statue beneath it, infusing the frame with deep Zen atmosphere. To harmonize with this ambiance, I kept my movements restrained, deliberately opting for a side-seated, slightly bowed posture to integrate into the environment rather than overpowering it. Photo 2 features a full-body composition framing the white tree, sculpture, circular skylight, and subject together, where the dome's arch and ground reflection create symmetrical balance. Photo 1 focuses on the side-back silhouette, capturing the reflected line from the Diamond Sutra: "All conditioned phenomena are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows." This verse perfectly resonated with my inner state at that moment—forms and shadows floating like flowers in a mirror or the moon on water, carrying an illusory, transcendent emptiness.

During the shoot, rather than pursuing flashy gestures, we focused on stillness. A minimalist architectural Zen space carries strong narrative weight on its own; excessive movement would only disrupt its tranquility. Photographer Chocolate provided precise guidance, constantly fine-tuning my shoulder and head angles to ensure facial contours and necklines produced the most striking silhouette against the backlight.

The props were minimal without intricate weaponry, relying instead on the aura built by the space itself. The color curation in these photos also harmonizes with the artistic aesthetic of Arknights—without relying on heavy saturation, the white base, varied shades of cyan-green, and black wig form an enduringly elegant, classical palette.

In post-processing, we intentionally preserved the subtle faded vintage tone and fine film grain characteristic of CLASSIC CHROME, avoiding over-sharpening to give the imagery breathing room. Whether the sweeping negative space of the concrete walls or the fine details of the gown, everything was faithfully recorded through the lens. It was a wonderful experience—like taking a brief spiritual retreat within this space. I hope the serenity conveyed through this cosplay photoshoot brings a sense of inner peace to everyone who views it.
