[Mime cosplay] Identity V Gothic style makeup, the show begins

The show begins. Today, I'm sharing the styling and shooting record for this Gothic style cosplay of the Mime from Identity V.

The makeup is the core of the overall styling. To fit the Gothic atmosphere and the Mime's eerie vibe, a very pale cool-toned base was used, with an emphasis on facial shading—especially the distinct black shadow line down the bridge of the nose and across the cheeks, which maximizes facial dimension and that non-human sculptural feel. The eye makeup used a bright yellow base, and a mix of brown and gold pigments under the eyes created a mottled, tear-strained crust effect. Finally, transparent rhinestones were dotted around the eyes, creating subtle reflections when the light hits. The lips are pure black, deliberately outlined with an exaggerated upward curve extending toward the cheeks, which, combined with the shadows, presents that eerie smile. Since I have experience with heavy-layer painting, I was able to keep the edges quite clean when handling such large-scale facial painting and lines.

The wig is silver-white curly hair, styled to be fluffy with fine curls. To reinforce the puppet feel, extremely fine translucent threads were deliberately woven around the hair and cheeks. The outfit features intricate white lace high collars and semi-transparent mesh gloves, paired with colorful, exquisite props like black-and-gold plaid patterns and pink ribbons, bringing out Gothic splendor and grotesqueness. The shooting relied heavily on lighting; strong top lighting combined with dark shadows is the soul of a great photo. I posed with gestures like lightly touching my chin and a silencing sign, staring straight into the lens, hoping everyone can feel the mysterious yet shattered atmosphere of the Mime. The whole shooting process was extremely satisfying, and polishing every detail from the costume to the makeup was a deeply immersive experience.
