From preparation to final delivery, bringing this 'Ink-Dyed Mirrored Bloom' look to life took immense dedication. The capelet, headpieces, and gloves were crafted by hommik Xiao Li, and their tactile quality turned out fantastic. The deep-blue bob wig, paired with that signature large white blossom, blue contact lenses, and red-orange eye makeup, brought my facial features much closer to the character's aura. For the costume, the centerpiece is an adapted qipao-style dress cut from jacquard fabric with subtle woven patterns; the neckline incorporates black mesh, forming a crisp visual contrast against the white dress body. The vibrant blue detached sleeves on both arms feature delicate cutouts, while the oversized blue shoulder bow and trailing white ribbons enrich the dimensional layering of the entire silhouette. Black criss-cross straps adorn the legs alongside white platform lace-up high heels—every detail crafted to faithfully recreate the character's signature attire.
We chose Ersan Studio for the shoot, where the scenic sets carry wonderful classical atmosphere. Wooden sliding doors, ink-wash landscape scrolls, faux bamboo stalks, traditional lanterns, and flooring simulating rippling water provided an ideal background ambiance. The lighting on set was dialed in softly; warm-toned illumination paired with semi-sheer white curtains in the foreground built an ethereal, hazy visual mood. The photographer Chengzi was exceptionally professional in composition and lighting control, and the post-processing retained the rich fabric textures and authentic environmental presence.
In terms of pose design, I explored several distinct postures. Leaning forward over the back of the wooden chair, I relaxed my gaze with quiet confidence to evoke effortless languor; sitting poised upright on the chair holding a calligraphy brush, I focused on refined posture—crossing my legs gracefully amidst classical props to convey a serene, scholarly poise. In the shot seated beside the scholar's desk with my head tilted gently downward, I sought to project an introverted, contemplative grace. The skin exposure of this outfit centers mainly around the shoulders, neckline, and legs, where elements like criss-cross strapping introduce striking visual tension.
My grip on the calligraphy brush was adjusted several times to maintain the clean vertical line of the shaft while managing facial expressions to avoid appearing stiff. The classical setting transformed the photoshoot from a simple cosplay record into a visual narrative. The deep blue hair picked up soft highlights under the warm lamps, echoing the greens of the bamboo and warm wooden furniture. White sheer fabric serving as a foreground element introduced subtle veiling at varying focal lengths, enhancing compositional depth. Because the tailoring is form-fitting, I stayed mindful of adjusting postures so the skirt folds draped naturally—particularly the leg straps, ensuring the criss-cross pattern remained neat when crossing my legs. While the platform heels offered stability, standing and posing for hours still demanded core balance. Ultimately, the success of this shoot was made possible by the seamless collaboration of the entire team—from garment and prop crafting to set building and visual storytelling, every step worked toward achieving the final vision.
