When shooting this Mirrored Flourishes set, I began preparing the details several days in advance. As my favorite character, I had long wanted to cosplay this Seele Vollerei outfit. A cool-toned foundation was chosen to match the blue-black gradient wig. To recreate her aloof yet gentle gaze, the eyeshadow was kept soft, focusing primarily on elongating the outer lash lines. The wig underwent subtle trimming to ensure the bangs and sideburns framed my face cleanly.
The shooting gear was rather intricate: white chunky heels paired with a black leg ring. Initially, wearing this Leg garter outfit felt unfamiliar—the black straps tended to leave pinch marks when sitting down, requiring continuous repositioning to maintain an elegant seated silhouette. The Glossy white tights offered superb reflectivity on an overcast day; ambient light falling across the legs formed soft highlights that beautifully showcased the sleek continuity of leg lines. To preserve this sheen, we avoided excessive bounce reflectors, leaning instead into the subtle moodiness of natural ambient light.
The violet-and-white tones of the prop umbrella harmonized gracefully with the outfit's blue-and-white palette, while the white rose hairpin and blue streaming ribbons made the overall character feel complete. The chilly wind was fairly brisk during the shoot, so gripping the umbrella handle required steady strength to prevent wobbling from ruining the shot. To convey that delicate posture of quietly listening to the wind, my head and shoulders were tilted to mirror the umbrella's plane. Lakeside stone benches and the distant city skyline in the background, smoothly blurred by a telephoto lens, anchored the subject firmly. To find the optimal framing, we experimented with multiple angles: close-ups emphasized the textures of the legs and tights, while full-body frames captured the overall aura. I personally adore the serene tranquility broad waters evoke—the shimmering lake surface gave the visuals tremendous depth and texture, and thanks to the misty lake atmosphere, post-processing barely needed much color grading.
With low temperatures and fierce lakeside winds, shooting outdoors in light layers was a genuine test of endurance. Still, to capture Seele's quiet, ethereal, and melancholic essence, every bit was worth it. Throughout the session, I continuously coordinated light angles with the photographer to ensure every layer of embroidery and petal adornment remained distinct in low light. Posing demands were equally rigorous; the combination of white tights and heels required engaged calf muscles to hold clean lines. This shoot represents an in-depth creative effort for the Honkai Impact 3rd Creator Incentive Program, capturing a character's presence in real-world settings. The color grading was kept deliberately soft without pushing saturation, as muted gray tones better accentuate the costume's refined elegance and poetic melancholy. Mundane details are romantic in themselves; this set primarily expresses the character's fleeting moment of peace in familiar surroundings, a process that gave me a deeper understanding of her. This is my slice of poetic everyday life frozen by the lake.
