Xiaohongshu photography really has no traffic; the data for the few sets of convention photos I posted has been completely mediocre, but photos that need to be published still have to be handled properly. This time I shot Seele's nun-themed look, featuring a blue-pink gradient wig and a black-and-white nun outfit. To match the character's temperament, I specially paired it with a pink cross necklace and heart-shaped decorations on the headscarf. The convention environment is actually quite noisy with a completely black background, so I discussed lighting with the photographer for a long time, deciding to go with a high-contrast dark-tone style. We used rim lighting to outline the texture of the blue hair while keeping the front light clean and soft, which brought out a translucent skin feel. During post-processing, I didn't over-retouch the skin; instead, I retained some natural facial light and shadow, focusing on color grading and atmosphere enhancement, adding a touch of pink accent to the cold-toned frame. Every time I do outdoor shoots or convention photos, it's truly a test of physical strength and mindset. Wearing thick clothes, wearing a wig that easily gets messy, and searching for angles in crowds—sometimes encountering poor lighting or venues can drastically reduce the photo success rate. But the moment I saw the final photos, I felt all the hassle was worth it. When shooting this set, I did many poses to coordinate with the lens, like pulling up the cloth strips or holding the cross in front of my chest with both hands, trying to keep my body from being too stiff. Actually, before the shoot, I was worried the nun outfit would look bulky or the wig unnatural, but the actual result was quite satisfactory. Convention photos often carry on-site randomness without the perfect conditions of a studio shoot, but that genuine on-site atmosphere is irreplaceable. As a coser, I am constantly exploring how to face the lens and how to convey the character's mysterious or quiet vibe through eyes and gestures. This set of photos took quite a bit of effort from the early wig trimming and clothing matching to on-site communication with photography, lighting adjustments, and later color grading and photo selection. Whether the traffic is good or not sometimes really feels like metaphysics, but the creative process itself is very fulfilling. After posting this set of photos, I am also reviewing the details of this shoot, hoping to present a better state next time and continue to find that wonderful balance between 2D and 3D, recording every favorite character in the best way possible.
