The location for this shoot was selected at a garden filled with roses, where the overall ambient lighting and natural vegetation perfectly fit this outfit featuring a magical girl style. When planning the shoot in the early stages, I considered combining the bright colors of the costume with the abundant natural outdoor light to avoid the harsh rim lighting typical of studio shoots, ultimately presenting this authentic texture of sunlight scattering across my hair and the floral crown.

Let's talk about the costume design details first. The floral wreath atop my head was piled together using a massive amount of pink and sky-blue faux flowers, paired with a fine gold wire hoop at the base, which both accentuates the character's iconic hair features and increases sophistication. The pink choker at the collar along with the large rose beside it serves as one of the visual centerpieces for the entire upper body. The top utilizes an off-the-shoulder cut, paired with flowing pink-and-white tulle cold-shoulder long sleeves. Although this large area of lightweight material creates an ethereal aura, it was actually extremely prone to being disheveled by the wind on-site, requiring constant adjustments to ensure the final output looked ideal.

The giant floral skirt on the lower body is the heaviest part of this outfit. The skirt hem is crowded and combined with countless pink and blue intertwined faux flowers; from a distance, it looks just like wearing a massive bouquet of fresh flowers. Because the flowers have a large volume, wearing it poses certain restrictions on the movement of my entire lower limbs. Especially when sitting down, extra attention had to be paid to the smoothness of the skirt hem to avoid crushing the three-dimensional shapes of the flowers. To maintain a sense of overall visual extension, I specially paired it with white over-the-knee socks decorated with bows at the cuffs. This combination retains the cuteness a magical girl ought to have while adding a touch of lively, youthful charm amidst the flower bushes.

The prop magic wand in hand was also one of the key elements for this shoot. The top of this pink long-staff wand features a highly classic styling design, including white wings, a blue core, gold borders, and red gemstone embellishments. Under the high-intensity outdoor sunlight, the metallic accessories on the prop showed an excellent glossy texture. My single-eye wink pose in the first photo was intended to give the frame a bit of playfulness and energy. The hand positioning for holding the wand and the prop's angle were repeatedly adjusted with the photographer to ensure that the prop's lines integrated naturally into the composition.

For the makeup, it was done quite clean and translucent this time without using overly heavy colors, primarily emphasizing the eyelashes and eyeliner to make the gaze look more spirited. Paired with the blonde short hair with straight bangs, I am personally quite satisfied with the final overall makeup and hair styling's synchronization with the original setting. During the outdoor anime-style photography session, the lighting changed rapidly. The rose bushes in the background provided an exceptional color depth of field, but because there were so many flowers, they easily attracted small insects. Although the shooting process was somewhat arduous, especially walking around the garden in this heavy dress, seeing this dreamy and natural atmosphere presented in the final raw images made all the hassle worthwhile.

Compared to studio shoots, this type of scene with outdoor blooming flowers as a background puts early-stage location scouting and costume-handling abilities to the test. To ensure greater room for post-processing adjustments, certain reservations were made regarding aperture and exposure control during the initial capture. The overall color scheme of this styling primarily features pink, blue, and white, which does not look jarring against the green vegetation backdrop but instead highlights the ethereal aura of the character. I hope these few photos can convey the fairytale feel that this costume design aimed to express, as well as the character's intrinsic traits of courage and energy.
