[Nico cosplay] Boss of Zenless Zone Zero's Cunning Hares — My Appearance Fee Isn't Cheap!

This set of Anime convention photos tackles the founder of the Cunning Hares from Zenless Zone Zero, the pink-haired cunning sweetheart herself. To faithfully recreate this character brimming with street style, we communicated extensively during pre-production regarding fabric textures, wig styling, and makeup ambiance.

For the wig, I selected a warm cherry-blossom pink cut with sharp, clean layering, paired with her iconic yellow bow and black hair accessories as visual anchors. The focus of the makeup was on enlarging the eyes and eyeliner, aiming to convey both a girlish vivacity and her sharp, confident presence as the boss. For the costume, a light blue fuzzy color-blocked cropped jacket is paired with a pink inner top featuring emoticon-like graphics, forming a color palette perfectly in tune with the chic urban aesthetic of Zenless Zone Zero. The lower half features black shorts with mesh detailing, which honors the original design while adding depth to the outfit. The white briefcase prop was the centerpiece of the shoot; because it had to be slung over my shoulder, we balanced its internal weight distribution beforehand to prevent awkward posture wobbles during shooting.

Collaborating with photographer Ruoye was seamless, as he is also an expert in photo retouching. For the setting, rather than an overly complex backdrop, we opted for an open space with an industrial edge. Through hard key lights and crisp highlights, the pink hair strands and plush jacket trims revealed striking texture under the lighting, crafting a visual impact reminiscent of a 2D anime poster. Resting the case on my shoulder with a slight forward lean required solid core strength to stay balanced while keeping my eye gaze sharp and precise.

Although she constantly says "My appearance fee isn't cheap!" with a sly, calculating businesswoman smirk, at her core she is fiercely loyal and dependable. During the shoot, I strove to capture that effortless "rule-breaker" demeanor through expression control. After all, doing cosplay goes beyond wearing a costume—it's about studying body language and eye contact to breathe life into the character in front of the lens beyond typical Convention photos.

This set represents a holistic attempt at Anime convention photos. Instead of lingering in crowded halls, focusing our energy on framed captures from specific angles highlighted the styling's nuances much better. Although the outfit appears lightweight, handling props and the wig over a lengthy session was quite physically demanding. Yet seeing the final result—sharp, streetwise, and slightly tsundere—made every drop of sweat worthwhile. Makeup, styling, photography, and post-processing form a complete synergy, and with our great teamwork, the final outcome perfectly fits the punk-street visual aesthetic of Zenless Zone Zero in this Cosplay sharing.
