[Dyadia Cosplay] Red and White Color Scheme in Honor of Kings: Dynamic Vibes Captured Live at the Anime Convention

Cosplaying Dyadia from Honor of Kings at the iJoy anime convention this time, I was personally very satisfied with all the details of the whole costume. The red jacquard pattern fabric paired with black shoulder splicing, along with the blue-gray fold-over cuffs and gold line patterns on the inside, reflected light wonderfully under the venue's natural lighting. Coupled with the pink heart patterns on the white stockings, the overall color scheme was eye-catching without feeling cluttered. The mint green tone of the wig formed a very comfortable contrast with the costume's red and black. The head horns used rigid material with fabric extensions, offering great wearing stability so they barely shifted out of place all day.

Lighting at the venue was actually quite complex—daylight coming through the ceiling's louvered skylights leaned cool, combined with fill light coming from the side from a nearby photographer. Fortunately, my partner helped capture a few dynamic snapshots for me. For the pose in the picture where I stand with wide open sleeves, I actually tried it several times; because the cuffs are exceptionally wide, fanning them out required controlling arm height while ensuring the fabric didn't tangle in the woven cord knots around my wrists. The sitting pose photo was relatively more relaxed, where the skirt spread out to perfectly display its layered richness.

Regarding makeup, this time I used pink-purple colored contact lenses and matching eye shadow to echo the wig. The lip color was chosen as a matte rose shade to avoid oily shine under bright light. Headpieces were fixed using hairpins and invisible straps so they wouldn't wobble even with larger head turns. Shoes were red-and-white platform high heels, which, paired with the white stockings, visually created an elongating effect when standing on the venue's gray floor.

Honestly, whenever cosplaying characters with such complex designs, the most time-consuming part isn't wearing the outfit, but tidying up details—like smoothing out the colored bead strings at the collar, tightening waist straps behind to proper positions, and preventing cuff inner linings from folding outward too noticeably. Many fellow fans at the venue asked me about the costume making process; this outfit was actually custom-made, but I personally modified several places later on, such as lengthening cuff drape and replacing the original black cloth with matte material featuring jacquard patterns, so it doesn't look rigid in front of the lens.

The atmosphere at the iJoy anime convention was wonderful, with ample light inside. Although crowded and noisy, the photographer patiently looked for angles, avoiding equipment stands and passersby in the background. Stairs and glass windows are visible in the background in the photos, and these venue elements actually add to the authenticity of the anime convention scene; rather than forcing an immaculate studio-clean look, it fits the "being on location" atmosphere I prefer for Anime-style photography.

Lastly, I want to say that when wearing a character with large sleeves and a long skirt, always remember to lift the front hem when walking, otherwise it's easy to step on it or trip over other booth displays. Also, red clothing is prone to overexposure under bright light; pay attention to exposure compensation when shooting, and pull down highlights slightly during post-processing to preserve the costume's texture and patterns. These convention photos were basically straight out of the camera, with only slight adjustments to color temperature and contrast. Personally, I feel vivid colors like these look great without too much retouching for Cosplay sharing. I hope to wear this outfit to other anime conventions next time and try out the effects under outdoor natural light!
