Cosplaying this Nymph cosplay has actually been planned in my heart for a long time; today I primarily want to talk about the hair, makeup, and shooting reflections. First is wig styling: this light Blue hair required immense patience to layer properly, and the bangs couldn't be too thick, or they would block the eyes. To make the gaze closer to 2D aesthetics, I chose large-diameter blue contacts; the eye makeup mainly elongated the outer corners paired with prominent undereye contours, finished with intensive smoothing and brightening filters to achieve that virtually flawless porcelain doll texture. The white mechanical wing hair accessories on both sides had notable weight, requiring careful anchoring. The black collar around my neck with its attached chain looked cool and fit the character lore perfectly, but wearing it was somewhat constricting and left marks; yet to preserve fidelity, all of this could be overcome. The outfit selected was a white camisole dress with lace trim and pale blue bows, perfectly matching the character's signature traits.
During shooting, holding the phone in one hand for selfies created a slight upward angle, which flattered my face shape and head-to-body proportions, looking more petite and adorable. In retouching, I focused on brightening skin tones to give the overall look a detached, porcelain-like quality. I've loved this Retro anime since childhood and always felt Nymph's personality was so distinct. Getting to cosplay my favorite character of so many years felt truly magical. Although wearing some accessories was cumbersome, seeing the final outcome before the camera made every effort worthwhile. Finding comfort in the 2D world and manifesting it in reality—that is my understanding of cosplay's meaning. Whenever I take on styling for a Blue hair character like this, I strive to perfect every detail to honor this passion. The location this time was indoor tiled flooring, utilizing the reflective floor to add atmosphere; this white-and-blue pairing fits the character's tone wonderfully. Since it was a selfie session, poses couldn't be fully realized; if there's an opportunity next time, I'll consider working with a dedicated photographer outdoors or in a studio to shoot a complete set, bringing all accessories and props to showcase Nymph's tsundere yet tenderhearted personality. That's all for sharing these prep and selfie details!
