When shooting this Blue Archive cosplay of Ryuge Kisaki, I chose an outdoor courtyard corner near the Firefly ACG Expo venue for location scouting. The primary tone of this look is a clever blend of fresh aesthetics and fluffy textures, so I wanted more natural elements in frame. Luckily, the surrounding greenery and light-and-shadow play fit this lazy, relaxing vibe wonderfully.

In terms of costume and styling details, I prepared a long black wig with straight bangs, whose airy hair feel matched the character's temperament perfectly. On my head was a white animal-eared plush hat with hanging pompom tassels on both sides, adorned with sky-blue bows at their base that created a lovely top-to-bottom echo with the main bow on my chest. The core outfit featured a white sleeveless high-neck knit sweater dress with a gentle woven texture and a soft, comfortable fit. To enhance styling dimensionality, I paired it with matching white plush wrist cuffs and slouch socks around my wrists and ankles, with blue bows tied at the sock cuffs, instantly enriching the visual layering of the entire outfit.

For pose design during the shoot, I experimented with several different moods. In the first photo, I sat cross-legged on the sofa and threw up a peace sign with my right hand, aiming to create a gentle, welcoming, and intimate feel. For the next two shots, I switched to pulling on the hat's pompoms—an impromptu idea on site that added a playful, lively touch, perfectly matching the character's relaxed, unguarded posture. Since we shot on a bright, sunny afternoon, sunlight filtered through leaves to cast soft diffuse light spots across the sofa. The photographer used a shallow depth of field to blur the lush greenery behind me with wide-aperture bokeh, keeping the shot crisp, bright, and centered on the character.

Finding this location was quite a story in itself. Foot traffic at the Firefly ACG Expo was immense, with long queues for indoor sets, so the photographer and I decided to wander outside, accidentally discovering this courtyard-style rest area. Wooden flooring and light grey sofa cushions looked exceptionally soft under the sunlight; this organic, everyday setting felt richer in narrative storytelling than deliberately constructed hard backdrops. As someone who frequently shoots cosplay photography, placing characters in real environments makes it much easier to project authentic emotion.

During makeup and styling, I paid special attention to maintaining a clear, translucent base. Since this costume lacks overly complex design elements, visual focus stays on facial expressions and accessory details. I slightly deepened eye contours to give my gaze more spirit, while keeping lips a natural cherry blossom tint. I believe thoughtful detail management yields better 2D fidelity on camera. Though wearing plush boots outdoors on a warm day was a bit warm, the sunlit freshness of the final shots completely washed away any physical fatigue.

I've always felt that cosplay isn't just about imitating external looks, but harmonizing with inner demeanor. From the moment I put on this outfit and wig, I wanted to convey this character's serenity and vividness through the lens to everyone who loves her.
