This shoot brought to life Akemi Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, with the entire styling prepared with meticulous dedication. The costume was custom-tailored; the fabric weave of the sailor suit and the texture of the purple bow tie closely mirror the original work. For the Black stockings, I selected matte pantyhose to sculpt clean leg lines under cool-toned lighting without unwanted glare. The purple contact lenses left my eyes feeling slightly dry after extended wear, requiring eye drops between takes. Grooming the long black wig was time-consuming, particularly defining the floating side locks with hairspray, while an electric fan ran beside me during the shoot to create an effortless, wind-swept flow.
The kneeling pose in Photo 1 was chosen because the photographer felt it accentuated the proportional lines between the Black stockings and the Uniform skirt hemline beautifully; centering the subject created a balanced composition ideal for the cover. The second pose, holding the handgun to the temple, required keeping facial expressions free of broad emotional swings, channeling a focused, icy gaze while wielding the prop one-handed to match character lore. The third frame featured shielding an eye with the Soul Gem—a gesture placing high demands on light and shadow, requiring repeated angle adjustments so the light filtering through the gem fell just right.
Set against a cool-toned backdrop under diffused lighting, the entire environment evoked an aloof, detached ambiance tinged with subtle danger.
