[Lisa cosplay] Genshin Impact: The Witch's Indolence and Vintage Charm

Shooting Lisa's outfit from Genshin Impact involves an incredible amount of detail.

The oversized witch hat is the soul of this styling. The wide brim blocks out the light and, combined with the blue-and-white ruffled trim, flatters the face line, though it certainly occupies quite a bit of space. During the shoot, angles required close attention to avoid shading the face too much, and I had to hold it with my hand from time to time. The deep blue dress has a tailored cut; the delicate white roses along the neckline and sleeves are exquisitely crafted, and the circular chest medallion carries great texture. The orange-yellow gloves create a vivid contrast against the main outfit, adding a splash of color to the quiet, dark palette. For styling, the tall Stockings feature a subtle reflective sheen that nicely contours the legs, and paired with the skirt's slit, crossing my legs casually created a flattering visual proportion.

Preparing this costume took considerable care, particularly shaping the large hat, styling the wig, and refining the makeup to match the 2D character's persona. We chose Junko-sensei's studio as the location. The red velvet sofa, dark roses, vintage glass bookshelves, and green-and-white striped curtains paired harmoniously with Lisa's costume colors, evoking the lavish atmosphere of a classical witch. The studio lighting was well-distributed: side light from the left made the skin look luminous, while shadows on the right added dimensional depth. Sitting sideways on the sofa with a relaxed, raised-hand pose looked completely effortless.

After communicating the desired vintage aesthetic with the photographer, shooting progressed very smoothly. Because the character design inherently carries a languid, indolent witch temperament, expressions and movements didn't need to feel stiff or strained. Relaxing slightly and glancing casually at the lens was enough to capture great frames. Looking at this selected photo, I love both the composition and the play of light and shadow, which faithfully recreated Lisa's indolent, vintage charm.

Although the hat was fairly heavy, making head turns somewhat awkward, and the shoot was tiring, being able to wear such intricate cosplay and capture satisfying shots in a beloved setting made all the effort worthwhile. It was a thoroughly rewarding shoot.
