This time I'm doing an Angels of Delusion cosplay from Zenless Zone Zero. I'd rate the accuracy of the overall styling an 80 out of 100, leaving the remaining 20 points for further refinement next time. The wig uses highly saturated pink, and the headphone prop on top of the head along with the bow hair accessories on both sides were reinforced in advance. Since the anime convention is crowded, they could easily be knocked off. What satisfies me most is the black polygonal spherical weapon in my hand, embedded with a cyan eye-shaped glowing component, which gives off a mysterious yet playful mechanical feel in person.
The matching white dress has many details; I tried my best to customize the prints on the skirt hem and the little logo on the chest according to the original design. The straps on the waist and the cyan embellishments on the gloves were also specially selected with fabrics from the same color palette, making the overall color coordination quite on point. Taking this group photo with my girls truly feels so atmospheric. The four of us each chose different angles to showcase our character traits—I'm in the front row holding the weapon, while the two girls behind me are making a V-sign and holding up a phone, making the frame instantly come alive.
The lighting at the venue actually puts the makeup to the test. To achieve a translucent look, I applied a thin layer of base makeup, focusing instead on the contours of the eye makeup and the brightness of the lip color. This way, the makeup won't look messy even if the on-site lighting leans warm. The prop is actually not light; holding it while striking several poses made my arms a bit sore, but seeing the photos coming out of the camera makes it all worth it. This was also my first time wearing this outfit to an offline event, and I received many retouched photos from fellow fans who totally get the charm points of this character.
The vibe of an anime convention cosplay just makes you unable to resist taking a few more photos to record this happiness. I deliberately kept an airy feel for the bangs, which, combined with the angle of the headphones, avoids blocking too much of the facial contours. During the shoot, we tried to find natural light or side-backlighting as much as possible to highlight the hair texture and the 3D effect of the props for this piece of Cosplay photography. There weren't too many complex movements this time, just very casual, happy moments at the convention. I hope everyone can feel that lively and slightly willful vibe of the character through this 2D creation.
