[Theresa Cosplay] A Quiet Record of Arknights EPOQUE Series - "Condolence" Civilight Eterna Theme

The EPOQUE Series - "Condolence" Civilight Eterna theme for Arknights' Theresa had always been on my shooting list. Taking advantage of the drizzly atmosphere during the Qingming Festival, I finally completed this Demon King condolence-style cosplay shoot. This look carries a strong sense of divinity and compassion in the character design, so during the early preparation phase for costumes and props, I paid special attention to restoring texture.

Let's start with this black gown. For fabric selection, I chose materials with a heavy and layered feel as much as possible. The metal buckles at the neckline and the 3D star ornaments on both shoulders are visual highlights that effectively embody the nobility and sternness of her status as the Demon King. The skirt design is very intricate, featuring not only extensive white botanical line embroideries, but also delicate silver bead chains and long white sashes. As I walk, these sashes gently sway with my steps, adding a lot of dynamic aesthetic beauty.

Regarding the headpiece, a black rigid crown with a hollow geometric design was paired with a translucent white gauze veil, fitting the character's divine setting while cleverly echoing the mourning and tranquility of the condolence theme. The veil's lightness creates a wonderful texture contrast with the heavy black gown. For the wig, I selected a light pink shade with thick bangs and naturally cascading side locks, which, combined with the overall makeup, made my demeanor look gentle yet melancholic.

The blue and white bouquet in hand during the shoot was an indispensable finishing prop; the colors of the flowers served to brighten the overall dark-toned ensemble. The white transparent ribbons dangling below the bouquet created a visual continuity with the sashes on the skirt. To align with the overall atmosphere of the Qingming Festival and the condolence theme, I maintained a relatively reserved expression during the shoot without dramatic faces, instead conveying restrained emotion through slightly lowered gazes and postures.

The venue for this shoot was chosen beside an outdoor building featuring classical arches and pillars. The rugged white stone pillars displayed a cool tone under light and shadow, making them ideal for this character and theme. During post-processing, glowing effects were deliberately layered into the image, including constellation line patterns and faint stardust halos. To prevent the special effects from overpowering the subject, I controlled the brightness and density of the light effects so they were naturally distributed around the character, creating a tranquil, dreamy atmosphere with hints of sci-fi and fate.

The overall post-processed color tone of the photos was adjusted to a cool purple-blue hue with lowered contrast and saturation, ensuring that the shadow details of the black dress could be revealed while giving the skin tone a pale and translucent appearance. In this way, the entire photo set not only aligns with the texture of intertwined technology and mythology that Arknights has consistently delivered to players, but also fits the quiet, slightly melancholic special time node of the Qingming Festival. The entire set of photos completed the expression of the character and work's theme, proving to be a highly satisfying shooting experience in both visual and emotional aspects.
