For this Yao Guang shoot, the overarching mood was designed around a classical Chinese fantasy aesthetic. The garment features an immense array of intricate design nuances; securing the complex silver ornaments across the bodice and the sapphire pendant required meticulous patience. The skirt incorporates an asymmetrical, irregular cut accented with peacock feather fringe, creating a fluid, graceful drape in motion. Harmonizing with the primary blue-and-white colorway, the makeup incorporated light blue cosmetic lenses paired with soft pink eye makeup, complemented by long silver-white hair with a subtle bluish sheen, ornate winged hair ornaments, and red-and-white tassels to achieve a very high level of styling completion. Regarding the on-set experience, the photographer curated an evocative Chinese-style stage furnished with antique wooden chairs, warm yellow cubic lanterns, flowing chiffon drapes, and blossoming plum branches. Immersing in this nostalgic, mystical environment enriched by classical accessories like fans and pipes filled the shoot with rich ambiance. Posing remained largely intuitive: resting on the wooden chair with one leg casually crossed and the other extended forward, clutching a fan or pipe, aligned naturally with the set. For wide compositions, the camera tilted slightly downward to capture an alluring downward gaze; close-ups captured fine cosmetic details with razor clarity. Dialing in the light angles took considerable time to ensure facial shadows stayed clean while showcasing the gentle sheen along the legs.
