[Kawaragi Momoka cosplay] An assembled Black suit cosplay look, checking in at the GBC pop-up store

This Kawaragi Momoka cosplay outfit was actually put together on a whim. Having six different character costumes on hand, I picked and chose elements like a black suit jacket, a white shirt, and a black-and-white striped tie to combine together. Initially, I worried it would look too pieced-together, but after putting it on, the overall effect turned out surprisingly harmonious. The suit jacket features a slim-cut design, and I chose a fine-striped tie to visually match the original design more closely. The wig is light blonde, and its bangs needed to be layered through trimming to capture that casual yet slightly rebellious vibe.

Last Sunday, I wore this outfit to the Girls Band Cry (GBC) pop-up store. The venue had a great atmosphere, especially the backdrop and standee, which I immediately thought were perfect for photos. The first photo was taken in the mall's rest area; as I was sitting and resting, I casually raised my phone for a selfie, with red stanchions and gray chairs in the background under even lighting. The second photo was taken in front of the pop-up store's backdrop, right next to the anime character standee. I deliberately found an angle where both the standee and my figure were fully captured in the frame. The expression on the character standee was very vivid, and I adjusted my gaze to look a bit sharper to match, making it feel more interactive.

Regarding makeup, I focused heavily on the eye makeup this time. Since Kawaragi Momoka has distinctive eyes in the anime, I used an earth-toned eyeshadow base, added prominent eyeliner, and finished with gray-blue contact lenses. The base makeup aimed for a clear, fair texture, which made the overall tone look more unified when paired with the light blonde wig. I chose a nude-pink matte lipstick; it wasn't overly flashy, but it brightened my complexion. While taking photos, I paid special attention to angles. Because the suit jacket is relatively thick, poor angles can make my shoulders look wide, so I mostly posed slightly sideways or from a slightly elevated angle. This showcased the details of the tie and shirt while making my silhouette look sleeker.

While browsing the pop-up store, I ran into a few friends who also love this work. Seeing my assembled outfit, they were quite curious about how I made it. I shared my styling ideas with them, such as how to adjust the tie length and how to tighten the suit's waistline for a better look. In fact, the process of hands-on assembly of clothes is a lot of fun. While the details certainly aren't as perfect as the original version, the sense of achievement of wearing something you put together yourself is irreplaceable.

The overall experience of visiting the pop-up store this time was wonderful. The venue wasn't particularly large, but it was arranged with great care, and the merchandise display was very rich. Because I was in a hurry, I didn't stay too long, mainly focusing on checking in, taking photos, and soaking in the atmosphere. The overall effect of this outfit has met my expectations so far, and next, I plan to fine-tune some small accessories, like adding metallic necklaces or earrings to make the complete look even more polished. Actually, the biggest joy of cosplay is continuous experimentation and adjustment; from outfit matching to makeup details, you learn something new every step of the way. There's no need to chase identical, expensive gear—as long as you capture the core elements, you can achieve great results just as well.
