Today, I met everyone at the supermarket checkout counter as a One-day store manager, wearing a white shirt and denim overalls, with the red plaid tie serving as the soul of the outfit. To match this look, I specially styled a red twin-tail wig and applied makeup true to the character, hoping to capture her authentic vibe. My partner did an Iseri Nina cosplay today, pairing blonde hair with a denim jacket and a black choker. Standing side by side, we created a striking visual contrast—one leaning more energetic and the other a bit cooler, perfectly complementing our denim styles. During prep, I meticulously checked every clothing detail, such as the metal buckles on the overalls, the red collar on the shirt, and the red plaid accent on the chest pocket, staying as faithful to the design as possible.
The blue umbrellas behind us and the shelves were filled with merchandise, making the payment terminal at the cashier desk today's main battleground. Beyond helping check out customers, we were also tasked with displaying various merch, including plushies, badges, and acrylic stands. Honestly, scanning barcodes and handing out receipts behind the counter while constantly staying camera-ready was quite physically demanding. Especially during rush periods, we had to verify payment information and keep things organized while clearly showcasing the goods in our hands to avoid any mix-ups.
During interactions on-site, many shoppers snapped photos with cameras or phones, and I gladly struck classic character poses for them, like holding up badges or making playful hand gestures. Taking photos while holding merchandise featuring the very character I was cosplaying felt wonderfully surreal. When shooting with my partner, we held each other's character plushies and adjusted our angles to deliver the best visuals. Some visitors even came over specifically to ask about our outfit coordination and makeup details, so I shared a few behind-the-scenes stories about preparing for this cosplay, such as picking out wigs and matching accessories.
As a One-day store manager, beyond cashiering and taking photos, keeping the counter tidy and the merchandise neatly arranged required constant attention. With heavy store traffic, people were constantly passing in the background, but we stayed focused to present our absolute best energy throughout. After standing for hours in this outfit, it was certainly tiring, but seeing everyone's enthusiasm for the merchandise and meeting fans who came out specifically to support us made it deeply meaningful.
