Sharing behind-the-scenes vlog footage from this Zenless Zone Zero 2nd Anniversary Sunna cosplay.
The outfit highlights for this shoot are concentrated on the lower body pairing: a mint green wig combined with a simple white shirt and a black double-layered ruffled skirt, with the focus placed on pink-and-white striped over-the-knee stockings paired with platform Mary Jane shoes. Complemented by an eye-catching pink backpack, the overall color palette is both refreshing and lively. Holding a rounded pink weapon prop adds a touch of unique playfulness to the entire look.
Photographer Loran set up many interesting auxiliary props in the studio, such as yellow-and-black warning chains hanging above, along with maintenance warning signs and metal fencing on the floor. These industrial-style venue elements formed a stark visual contrast with our lightweight 2D fashion. There were many dynamic candid shots during the shoot, such as single-leg hopping poses, which showcased the fluid movement of the skirt hem and the sleek lines of the stockings in motion.
In terms of camera angles, we tried cutting in from side views and perspectives holding props, hoping to restore the character's stubborn yet playful attitude to the fullest. The pink-and-white striped stockings and platform shoes offered strong recognition while jumping, representing my personal understanding and recreation of the character's outfit. Detailed accessories such as black leg straps and small colorful bows were also carefully selected to ornament the outfit.
As a live recording for the 2nd Anniversary celebration, we deliberately kept the warning signs and chain elements in the scene so the photos do more than display the character—they carry a contextual sense fused with a real environment. Working with Loran was very seamless; she always manages to capture the most natural dynamics, making the entire shooting process efficient and full of fun.
For this creation incentive program, I chose to participate with this relatively refreshing look containing subtle techwear elements, mainly because this relaxed and energetic image fits the joyful atmosphere of the 2nd Anniversary celebration so well. Without overly complex backdrop boards, using a simple gradient wall and industrial props to build a miniature stage fully showcases the character's charm.
Regarding the overall shoot strategy, we didn't deliberately pursue strong, dramatic compositions, leaning instead towards recording the natural, relaxed feel of behind-the-scenes moments themselves. Whether posing sideways holding a gun or jumping fully integrated into the scene, every moment was tested and adjusted in a real environment for optimal presentation. I really love this slightly casual yet meticulously prepared live feel, which preserves the most authentic and lively moments under the lens.
From outfit coordination to actually wearing the costume, the process posed no overly tedious challenges—the key was how to inject the character's soul through posture and demeanor. The pink base of the striped stockings merged with large white areas creates an eye-catching effect in front of the lens, laying down a bright, easygoing tone for the photos. This BTS log carries the joy of the 2nd Anniversary, and I hope to pass this vitality along.
