【Takanashi Hoshino cosplay】The Lazy Daily Life in a Lab Coat, The Realism of Abydos - Image 1

This time, I am sharing a convention photo of Takanashi Hoshino from Blue Archive, shot at the January Firefly Anime convention venue, with some details, light, and shadow newly adjusted. Regarding this Hoshino cosplay, the focus lies in recreating her lazy, casual yet uniquely charismatic state.

The pink wig on the head underwent fine trimming and styling. Combined with the halo and cat-ear accessories on her head, it beautifully captures the character's recognizability. The bell collar around the neck is not only an important visual element but also serves to adjust the overall center of gravity and provide decoration. For the costume, a loose white top paired with a red outfit and over-the-knee white socks was chosen, a combination that is visually refreshing and fits the everyday sense of the original setting. The shooting scene this time chose a cozy room covered in pink tones, where the scattered plush dolls and colored yarn balls echo her cute, human-accessory-like traits. At the same time, the stacked prop boxes in the corner and various posters on the wall fill the entire image with the daily life vibe of Abydos.

The January Firefly Anime convention had a huge flow of people. Being able to find a relatively quiet area for shooting in this environment heavily tested the on-site photographer's scheduling ability. To achieve the character's expression of slightly squinted eyes and a hint of sleepiness, it required multiple adjustments of shooting angles and emotional guidance. The on-site lighting conditions were quite complex; during post-processing, the overall color tone was intentionally shifted toward a softer direction, enhancing the misty and hazy feel of the frame, so that the polished final photos still retain the unique flavor of a convention photo from the anime convention venue. For the character, the texture of the halo, the folds of the costume, and the prop details scattered on the carpet are all key points affecting the quality of the final product. Therefore, when sorting through this set of photos, I placed an emphasis on preserving these real-life details.

Around this Hoshino cosplay, I also tried to communicate with fellow fans at the anime convention venue to discuss the choice of costume materials and the treatment of makeup details, which is one of the most charming parts that anime conventions grant to cosplay activities. Characters from 2D culture can resonate with everyone in reality through this physical presentation. This set of photos is not merely a simple record, but an attempt to recreate the worldview of Blue Archive. For the overall editing approach, I lean toward preserving natural light and shadow transitions without over-smoothing the skin, keeping the texture of the clothing fabric, which aligns better with the on-site feel.

Overall, this shoot and post-processing editing experience brought me a lot of insight regarding character shaping and scene integration. I hope this Hoshino, imbued with a lazy atmosphere, can let everyone feel that unique slice-of-life essence from the original work.
