This shoot of the Cyberpunk Mechanic style centered around the collision between techwear cosplay and a futuristic technological feel. The costume chose a white glossy PVC material jacket. The advantage of this material is its excellent glossiness, providing great texture under lights, though the downside is that it's rather stuffy during shooting. The jacket lining is bright orange, forming a strong visual contrast with the black tight base. The lower body features white rigid armor shorts with gray webbing and buckles, with the number 04 printed on the front, reinforcing the Mechanic setting. The legs are paired with White stockings and transparent platform high heels, visually lengthening the leg lines.
To match this outfit, the makeup chose a rather aloof style, deepening the eye contours, paired with a long black straight low twin-tail hairstyle, creating a Mechanic image that is both calm and carries a hint of a dangerous aura. The shooting scene was arranged with a large number of intricate black cables, walls covered in screens displaying green data streams, and rendered with a large area of red ambient light.
During the shoot, interacting with the environment was the key to expressing Atmospheric photography. I tried multiple poses such as standing, looking back, and crouching. Utilizing the black cables on the ground as visual guide lines can increase the depth of field of the frame. Sitting next to the metal support and touching the glowing astronaut helmet with both hands can greatly enhance the narrative quality of the frame. The expression of the gaze is also crucial, requiring a detached, indifferent mechanical feel.
In terms of lighting control, a large area of red light source easily causes the white clothes to reflect and overexpose, so the light ratio of the main and fill lights needs to be precisely adjusted. The high contrast formed between the red background and the cool white armor makes every photo full of strong visual impact. This attempt at a Cyberpunk outdoor style not only tests the control over costumes and props, but also gives me a deeper understanding of techwear cosplay photography.
