[Lucy cosplay] Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - A Cyber Girl Moment

After putting together the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Lucy cosplay look and finishing these shots, most of my energy went into getting the hair right and adjusting the sheen on the leather suit. Since I was shooting at home in limited space, I combined the hallway overhead light with fill lights in my room. During the shoot, I realized that the red eyeliner not only needed to be fine, but placement was crucial—too thick looks unnatural, while too light misses that sharp, cold edge essential to Cyberpunk style. Styling the wig took multiple passes; blending the pink, blue, and yellow gradient naturally really requires patience. For the first photo, I reached my hand forward deliberately to create an aggressive perspective composition. For the next two shots, I adjusted my position in front of the mirror several times to capture the full body. While calibrating the lighting, I found the reflective leather surface to be extremely light-sensitive; the slightest shift in angle would make the glossy finish look washed out or overly dark. Finally, I found an angle that highlighted the red trim on the outfit, which I was happy with. The waist-cinching cut works wonderfully, and pairing it with high boots flatters the leg line. Looking in the mirror after finishing my makeup, letting slightly messy pink bangs cover half of my eye, that distinct Cyberpunk: Edgerunners aura immediately emerged. During post-processing color grading, I deliberately preserved a hint of ambient gloom while boosting the contrast between the red and black on the leather jacket, ensuring the texture matched that dystopian, tech-wasteland Cyberpunk style. In fact, doing a cosplay selfie shoot at home is always quite a challenge—adjusting camera settings by yourself, positioning reflectors, and directing your own expressions. Though hectic, the sense of immersion when seeing the final photos is deeply satisfying. As for Lucy, she possesses not only a cool exterior, but also a resilient inner strength. Therefore, while shooting, I kept a slightly lowered, distant gaze, letting my hair veil the right side of my face so my expression felt icy yet tinged with weariness. Lowering the angle slightly for the front cosplay selfie shots gave the gaze more impact, while simple standing poses in the full-body shots easily showcased the 2D character's proportions. By balancing the subtle sheen of the black-and-red leather suit with the white base and black boots, visual layers came together nicely. Packing up after the shoot, I was still savoring those moments spent embodying the character, and I hope sharing this gives everyone a sense of Lucy brought vividly to life.
