[Cifera Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: The Silver Fox-Tailed Girl in a Retro Studio

When shooting this Cifera Cosplay set from Honkai: Star Rail, I communicated very closely with the photography team regarding makeup, styling, and scene selection to present the character's playful yet slightly mysterious vibe. The core idea of this shoot was blending the anime setting into a real-life set's atmosphere during this Retro studio photoshoot.

First, regarding hair and makeup: the short silver-white wig for this Silver hair styling really tested cutting skills. To make the hair strands look natural and layered, the bangs and sideburns were fine-tuned multiple times, paired with aqua-blue contact lenses that instantly captured the character's essence. Pre-camera facial makeup was kept clean and sharp, emphasizing eye contours to highlight a lively charm. Next came the time-consuming yet meticulous dressing process.

This costume features rich design details, centered around a black, white, and yellow (gold) color-blocked bodysuit. The upper body's mandarin collar gracefully accentuates the neckline, while the striking white-gold triangular chest ornament presents a strong matte texture under studio lights. The blue-and-gold armor band on the arm, despite having some thickness when worn, effectively supports the overall combat girl vibe. The fingerless gloves offer great freedom during shooting, making gestures and prop handling very convenient.

My favorite part is naturally the lower half design and that fluffy tail. White shorts paired with black thigh straps accentuate leg length while adding a touch of techwear aesthetics unique to anime design. A yellow crescent pendant serves as the finishing touch on the thigh. Then comes the immensely eye-catching gold boots, whose geometric cut patterns pop on camera, with their structured material perfectly echoing the tight-fitting top half. The tail attaches directly at the waist; its white fluff and gradient gray-blue tip look exceptionally realistic. Although the tail's weight required slight posture adjustments to maintain balance during the shoot, the final fluffy texture added tremendous value.

To match this character's atmosphere, the studio props were deliberately arranged. Dark red velvet drapes and golden tassels formed a grand backdrop, invoking a retro theatrical feel. A classic dark green leather sofa established a relaxed yet aristocratic tone. Beside it, a golden gramophone, a skull on a white base, and an intricately shaped silver candelabra were all carefully curated props. Combining these props with Cifera's outfit created a magical chemical reaction that broke the fourth wall.

During the shoot, the gaffer used strong rim lighting to outline my silhouette, creating a beautiful halo around the edges of the silver hair and white furry tail. I tried playful poses like raising my hand to my face, tilting my head slightly, or bending my knees slightly to elongate leg proportions with the gold boots—capturing natural candid vibes discovered through experimentation. The advantage of a Retro studio photoshoot is precise control over light and shadow, allowing costume details, metallic textures, and fabric layers to be displayed flawlessly. I'm very pleased with the overall quality of this Live-action cosplay set, which effectively communicated the character's aura and my own understanding of this work through visual storytelling.
