The Convention photos from the January Firefly ACG Expo are finally sorted out—this time portraying Vivian from Honkai: Star Rail. Lavender wavy hair paired with elf ear props, coordinated with a white shirt and a black leather vest, gave the look immense visual depth under the wide-angle lens. The skirt features asymmetric patchwork pieces in black, dark gray, and blue-purple, which, paired with the metal chain around the waist, draped wonderfully while walking. The white ruffled high collar and cuffs, along with the bow tie at the neckline, injected a touch of lively charm into this cool aesthetic.
The weapon prop in my hand was quite large; to present a natural holding stance in the photos, the photographer and I repeatedly adjusted the angle and center of gravity to avoid stiffness or obscuring my body lines. The light-pink textured Stocking outfit with crisscross thigh straps and bow embellishments on the chunky platform heeled sandals helped elongate body proportions significantly. Many photographers on-site also remarked that the footwear and leg details were exceptionally eye-catching.
The venue's industrial steel trusses and dense ceiling lights produced a strong sense of spatial depth under low-angle perspectives, which, combined with the red-orange accent wall in the background, perfectly balanced the cool purple, black, and white tones. While wide-angle perspective exaggeration made the props and footwear appear substantially larger, it also enhanced the character's commanding presence in these Anime convention photos. To maintain this cool, aloof demeanor, I applied strict control over micro-expressions before the camera; for the eye makeup, I selected red eyeshadow echoing her red contact lenses, keeping the face clean and crisp.
The convention hall was packed that day, and finding relatively clean backdrops to avoid cluttered booths took some time. Carrying this full gear through the venue was quite physically demanding—especially with the heavy skirt hem and platform high heels, which became tiring after prolonged walking. Yet the moment I put on the wig and elf ears, the character's vibe instantly manifested.
This photoshoot focused on showcasing dynamic tension under a wide-angle lens while preserving fine garment textures—details like the leather belt, metallic chains, and skirt pleats remain vividly distinct in these Convention photos. During the shoot, I also bumped into some favorite cosplayers, sharing friendly interactions while obtaining many wonderful photos. Capturing the dynamic swing of the weapon prop took considerable energy; rather than standing static, snapping slightly turned or spinning postures better expressed the agility and elegance of Vivian in this Honkai: Star Rail Vivian cosplay. The resulting lighting and composition were very satisfying, meeting my expected level of completion while capturing the character's signature aloof detachment.
