[Sunday Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail — Documenting a Quiet Encounter

Putting on this blue, white, and gold spliced robe and donning that iconic golden starburst halo, the moment my gaze intersected with the camera lens, roleplay ceased to be mere dressing up—it became a journey to touch the soul core named Sunday. The main difficulty of this shoot actually centered on the costume's layering and those intricate accessories: details like the purple inner lining at the collar, the blue gemstone-shaped ornaments on the outer robe, and the fit of the dark black tights and tall leather boots all required careful adjustment when dressing up to ensure the drape and silhouette looked sufficiently natural in photos.

The lighting on the shooting day was remarkably clear and translucent. We chose an entire wall of white sheer window curtains as the background light source, enveloping the whole set in a high-key, dreamy ambiance. On site, we arranged blue-and-white silk flowers and a white wrought-iron birdcage; these props unexpectedly complemented the character's cool and solemn lore. During composition, the photographer allowed plenty of breathing room, emphasizing shoulder and hand details in Anime-style photography. That blue-covered book adorned with golden starburst patterns was actually something I specially customized during early preparations; holding it in hand brought a unique sense of texture and weight.

Regarding facial expression control, I intentionally restrained my emotions, striving to make my eyes look calm and detached. When shooting several photos holding white roses, I tried slowing down my movements to emulate an aura that was elegant yet tinged with melancholy. Because the overall costume silhouette is relatively voluminous, controlling the drape of the robe and the angle of the boots during seated shots became particularly crucial, requiring me to anchor my center of gravity to convey the character's composure.

For hair and makeup, this silver-blue wig was meticulously trimmed into layers, which, combined with contouring and contact lenses, made facial features look more three-dimensional. During the shoot, the photographer constantly guided me to fine-tune subtle angles—such as the tilt direction of the halo and finger positions when gloved hands held the white flowers—details that ultimately determined the visual storytelling depth. This was a truly pure Casual cosplay shooting experience, not chasing overly dramatic scenes, but rather wishing to freeze that cool, detached temperament transcending the mortal world. After organizing this set of photos, I feel I've gained a deeper understanding of the character during the cosplay process, and I hope to present a relatively complete visual restoration through the lens for HoYoLAB.
