Cosplayed Cifera at Chengdu WorldLine Comic-Con today. This costume is packed with intricate details—especially the pauldrons and the metallic ornaments around the waist, which combine rigid armor pieces with leather textures. Wearing them not only adds noticeable weight, but also restricts mobility. To faithfully recreate the cat ears on the hood and the golden forehead ornament, I spent considerable effort securing the wig and headdresses during prep to make sure they wouldn't easily slide off while navigating convention crowds. Cifera's costume design in Honkai: Star Rail is truly unique: the primary palette of black and gold accented with touches of vibrant blue offers strong visual impact, but it also means having to pay meticulous attention to detail during crafting and fitting. The tail accessory, leather leg harnesses, and metallic boots are not just heavy, but also demand constant balance control while posing to avoid stumbling or compromising the overall silhouette.

Shooting convention photos on-site today presented rapid lighting shifts. I communicated at length with the photographer, experimenting with diverse lighting setups to highlight the supple texture of the leather garments and the metallic luster of the golden accessories. Convention photography is an endurance test of physical stamina, as you need to hold stable poses—like lifting a leg high to showcase the boots, or leaning forward to reveal the cutout design along the back. Quite a few fellow fans came by for selfie trades today, exchanging thoughts on the character and sharing photo tips; that welcoming atmosphere felt amazing. Although my legs were aching after a full day, and the restrictive nature of the outfit barely allowed me to eat or drink, seeing the final captures inside the camera monitor made all the hard work feel completely worthwhile.

In terms of posing choreography, I aimed to convey the character's agility laced with a hint of playful charm, incorporating cat-paw gestures and over-the-shoulder glances to enrich compositional layering. The convention venue was relatively spacious, and despite ambient crowds in the background, the overarching vibe was fantastic. I checked my costume fittings multiple times before heading out; leather garments are indeed not very breathable, making it easy to sweat after walking outdoors for a while, but for the sake of the final visual impact, that is easily overcome. While posing, I consciously regulated my breathing and body angles to ensure the chest detailing and pauldrons showed up crisp and clear on camera. Shifting weight between both legs required continuous adjustment—especially in slender high-heeled boots, where maintaining specific poses truly tested my core strength. This also made me realize that bringing a character to life requires more than just costumes and props; it demands a synergy of stamina and expressive presence.

My caption mentioned suffering, and in truth, you do encounter all sorts of unexpected situations at conventions—like loose props or struggling to find clean shooting angles—yet getting to cosplay a character I love is deeply fulfilling inside. Comic-cons are precisely the kind of place where pain and joy intertwine: meeting like-minded friends and pouring passion into the works we cherish is a true blessing. Looking at these returned photos, I feel all the preliminary rehearsals paid off, as the lighting and fabric textures met our expectations. I hope this set of Cifera convention photos allows everyone to feel the character's innate charm. Finally, a heartfelt thank you once again to the friends who helped with shooting and photo trades today—see you all at the next con!
