This March 7th Xianzhou cosplay from Honkai: Star Rail actually has quite a lot worth sharing, from garment color choices to detailed decorations. The most eye-catching feature of the entire look is likely the signature pink hairstyle, which brings out a playful charm when paired with the golden bow hairpin. To recreate the character's lively feel, I intentionally kept a light, naturally fluffy texture in the hair strands during shooting without making it overly stiff, which makes the overall aura appear much more vibrant on camera.

The layering of this outfit is quite intricate: the outer layer features a bright red jacket with golden piping along the edges, elevating the overall sense of delicacy. Rather than traditional cuffed sleeves, the sleeve portion adopts loose white lantern sleeves that create wonderful dynamic motion in every gesture. On the chest lies a dark brown panel design printed with light-colored patterns reminiscent of cloud or water ripples—all crafted to fit the Xianzhou Chinese-style ACG aesthetic. The waist serves as the visual centerpiece, featuring a striking wide blue belt with a white lotus-shaped decorative buckle in the center, flanked by light pink ribbons streaming down to enhance an ethereal, celestial grace. The lower half consists of a layered ruffle skirt combining dark brown and white, finished with black stitching along the hemline, blending overall color tones in perfect harmony.

Behind me stands a folding screen adorned with calligraphic lettering, flanked on the left by bamboo branches and dried flower bonsai—elements that echo March 7th's Xianzhou-style outfit wonderfully, bolstering the overall Chinese-style ACG atmosphere. Warm yellow light and shadow falling across these traditional items create a cozy indoor ambiance imbued with vintage flair. However, warm light poses a test during post-production color grading, as careless handling can easily leave the image feeling muddy; therefore, I deliberately controlled facial environment brightness during shooting so skin tones remained translucent and clean.

When expressing character demeanor, I referenced her signature lively enthusiasm while avoiding overly exaggerated movements. The hand-raised V-sign pose, combined with a slightly tilted head angle, preserves the character's bouncy energy while allowing body lines to stretch comfortably in composition. The hands-on-hips pose appears confident and graceful, using physical motion to fully display the structure of the wide belt and flowing ribbons.

When shooting multi-layered garment structures, the biggest concern is often clothes bunching up and losing their intended shape. Before shooting, I spent considerable time smoothing out costume wrinkles—especially the chest panel and skirt layering—ensuring they maintained distinct layers in front of the lens without appearing bulky. Fingerless gloves also add a crisp, capable edge when handling props or making gestures. Under lens framing, the red, blue, white, and dark brown color blocks on the costume blend seamlessly without feeling chaotic.
