[Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay] Genshin Impact Character Brought to Life: Presenting the Intellectual Beauty of Water and the Ocean

When shooting this set of Genshin Impact client photos for Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay, my photography team and I communicated extensively regarding garment fabric selection and scene pairing to maximize the character's disposition. To stay true to Sangonomiya Kokomi's serene yet intellectually beautiful persona on Watatsumi Island, we prepared five completely distinct scenes for this client shoot creation.

First was the preparation of the wig and hair accessories. The pink gradient hair color achieved a matte softness after multiple color adjustments, while the top hair bun and blue bow hair ornament served as key elements to heighten character recognition. The choker utilized black lace material inlaid with a bright blue gemstone in the center; this accessory nicely enhanced neck contours during high-angle or downward perspective shots.

The costume body featured an oversized dark blue and white coat crafted from fabric with natural drape, allowing the white ocean wave patterns and scattered polka dots on the sleeves to display natural depth. The oversized blue-and-white striped bow on the chest, paired with a hollow metal round frame and blue gem, focused the character's visual center on the chest, combining cuteness with flowing grace. Furthermore, incorporating white gloves and a White thigh-highs outfit completed the anime-inspired style flawlessly.

In several studio photos, I emphasized the front tailoring of this outfit through natural standing poses and placing hands on hips, where the combination of the chest bow and choker drew visual focus tightly into center frame. This relatively clean backdrop suited displaying intricate costume details perfectly.

To highlight her tranquil and elegant qualities as a strategist, we specifically set up a Japanese-style tearoom set. A dark wooden low table with a tea set and writing brush, flanked by glowing Japanese paper lanterns and scattered pink flower petals added into the frame. Sitting on the tatami, this angle beautifully showcased leg lines enhanced by the White thigh-highs outfit, while tilting my head slightly made the entire frame radiate a serene mood—as if drinking tea and contemplating in solitude on Watatsumi Island.

Next, we switched scenes to an artistic white grand piano, adorned with heavy sheet music and white floral decorations. Holding a white string instrument and bow, I simulated a state of preparing to play or becoming immersed in music. Combining this outfit with musical instruments created an incredible atmosphere, restoring Sangonomiya Kokomi's intellectual disposition to a high degree.

Finally, we moved outdoors to a flower-draped swing, where branches intertwined with purple and pink blossoms made stepping under the hanging ropes feel like entering another realm. Placing hands together beside my cheek, warm lighting shone upon the wig and choker—a frame that matched the ethereal ambiance of Genshin Impact while expressing the gentle tranquility I aimed to deliver through this client photo set.

In truth, every time I complete a client shoot, I ponder how to touch a character's inner heart through lens and styling. Portraying Sangonomiya Kokomi gave me a deeper understanding of Watatsumi Island's lore in Genshin Impact. Though we faced tests like wig positioning and pose control during shooting, seeing the final photos made every effort feel completely worthwhile. This set captured subtle lace edges on the costume and shifts in gradient hair color under varied lighting, preserving my genuine respect for this character.
