Doing a studio photo shoot in Jinhsi's Peach Blossom outfit took a lot of effort to polish every detail, from makeup to costume fit.

Styling the wig and assembling the headpiece were the first steps. To achieve a more natural sheen, the white wig wasn't overly teased, maintaining a sleek drape. The wavy metal headband on the forehead needed to fit the hairline without flattening the bangs, requiring quite a few hidden bobby pins to fix in place. The buns on both sides were styled into full, rounded shapes, adorned with delicate flower ornaments matching skin tones, and finished with blue-and-white gradient ribbons. This enriched the visual effect of the upper body, achieving a harmonious balance between volume and lightness.

For makeup, to match the Peach Blossom outfit setting, the key focus was on eye makeup blending. I wore light pink-purple contact lenses, used a peach shade for the eyeshadow base, and deepened the outer corners and lower eyelid area with reddish-brown tones to add innocent depth to the eyes. The eyelashes chosen were naturally curled without being overly dramatic, paired with eyeliner to lengthen the eye shape. For lips, I chose a peach orange-red color that brightens the complexion without feeling dated, perfectly complementing the pink and white scheme of the outfit.

Next, let's talk about the clever details of the outfit. The costume features an off-the-shoulder design made of light, breathable fabric that fits comfortably without looking bulky. The chest features a large pink-and-white gradient, complimented by a red wide belt with cross-grid patterns, nicely balancing the upper and lower body proportions. Light blue water-sleeve fabric is stitched below the collarbone, creating a flowing motion when moving or raising an arm. Metallic belt buckles and dark trim add a touch of crispness, softening the sweetness of the pink tones. Since off-the-shoulder designs leave shoulder and neck lines completely exposed, I paid extra attention to my posture before shooting to ensure a striking visual presence.

For props, I prepared a semi-sheer embroidered round fan. This fan is definitely worth mentioning: the fan surface is made of thin gauze with pink peach blossom and green leaf embroidery, perfectly capturing the name Peach Blossom. Holding it in the foreground allows semi-transparent shots of my face through the gauze, adding depth to the composition. Combined with the hair styling and dangling accessories, it conveys an ethereal, magical lightness.

For the shoot location, I chose an indoor studio setting with a backdrop of black mesh frames and artificial peach blossom branches. Regarding lighting design, I used cool-toned side-backlighting to outline the hair, giving the white wig more dimension, while a warm soft main light illuminated the face, making my skin look smooth and porcelain. The blue ambient light shown in the photos softly blends the subject into the background, enhancing skin brightness while making the blue-and-white colors of the costume look crisp and clean under cool light. Combining warm and cool lighting prevents flat shots without muddying the makeup, heightening visual tension.

Actually, during the shoot, the trickiest part was figuring out how to position hands and props. Since the outfit is off-the-shoulder, stiff hand placements could make the neck and shoulder lines look rigid. So I tried several poses, including gently touching my collarbone, resting a hand on the side of my neck, striking a relaxed victory sign for a playful vibe, and holding the round fan to partially cover my face. These varied poses unlocked different facets of the character's personality—both her cool elegance and her playful charm.

Looking back at the final outcome, the refreshing and ethereal quality of the Peach Blossom outfit mostly comes from the harmony of colors and fabric textures. Balancing white, blue, pink, gold, and red under real-world lighting is tricky—too bright causes overexposure, while too dark turns colors dull grey. The final photos captured the light, shadow, and color harmony just as envisioned. I hope this carefully prepared setup allows everyone to better appreciate the beauty of this outfit design, while enjoying the fun behind refining every detail in cosplay photography.
