[Shark girl cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Swimsuit Shark Girl — Chimelong Water Park Shoot Record

In the shallow pool of Chimelong Water Park, the ripples reflected the dusk light and shadow. Stepping into this black halter Swimsuit and strapping on the shark tail prop decorated with star patterns, the cool pool water just submerged my ankles. I had hesitated for quite a while before shooting because the tail has an internal support structure, and its weight once wet was far from the light floatiness one might imagine; fortunately, the final photos proved every bit of effort was worth it.

Choosing to shoot during the Chimelong Water Park Trendy EDM Festival was a deliberate choice—the colossal colorful archway in the background and the flickering edge lights aligned seamlessly with the trendy, stylish vibe inherent to this character design from Zenless Zone Zero. Unlike heavy historical or armored outfits, the advantage of a Swimsuit look lies in how freely and gracefully you can pose. To maintain stability while standing in water, I had to carefully control the pressure points where my toes met the pool floor while keeping my upper body straight and upright. Photographer @MoQiufeng had exceptional command over the lighting; combining dusk natural light with strobe fill lighting brought out the rich texture of the black swimsuit and the subtle metallic sheen of the small pendant on the black leather choker just right.

Regarding prop details, the lollipop in my hand was actually a spontaneous addition on the day of the shoot. It offered a natural visual focal point, introducing a bright splash of color between the expansive black Swimsuit and the blue water surface. The cut-out design of the halter swimsuit, along with the silhouette framing from waist to leg, captured the character's original persona while adapting seamlessly to the water park setting. Splashes of water occasionally kicked up during shooting, leaving beaded droplets across the glossy black surface of the tail—a distinctive texture and atmosphere that indoor studio cosplay shoots could never replicate.

When it came to posing choreography, different shots captured entirely distinct states. That moment of lifting one leg was much trickier for body balance than it looks—to keep the tail from slapping the water and making excessive splashes, it required a delicate tilt of the hips and waist. In the close-up backward glance, because the magenta gradient highlights at the tips of my hair appeared slightly muted against the dim background, the photographer specifically used side-backlighting to illuminate the edges of the hair strands, reinforcing the character's sharp, cool aura in the close-up shot.

The challenge of capturing full-body shots in the water lies in horizon control, as the pool bottom features tiled patterns where excessive tilting of the lens easily distorts perspective lines. We tested several angles and ultimately settled on a slightly low upward angle, which incorporated the distant fountains and trees while flattering lower-body proportions. Over two hours of shooting, constantly readjusting the tail's angle and the position of the swim ring while standing in water was physically taxing, but seeing this set of photos brimming with vibrant summer energy made me feel thoroughly accomplished in this Shark girl cosplay.
