To match Miss Yamada cosplay's character temperament, I deliberately trimmed and styled this bright red short wig in advance to make it look more natural. The shooting location was chosen at the back door of a convenience store at night, using the store's own lighting as the main light source. In terms of clothing, the combination of a black glossy leather jacket and a white tight hip-wrap skirt formed a strong visual contrast, while the sheer Black stockings and white chunky-heeled mid-calf boots matched on the lower body further strengthened the street feel of the overall Leather jacket outfit. The black choker around the neck and the cigarette prop in hand are both meant to enrich the details of the frame. In terms of action design, we tried a variety of poses. When leaning against the glass door, it is necessary to relax the shoulders and let the leather jacket slide off naturally, presenting a casual state. The posture of squatting on the steps is actually very challenging, requiring core strength to maintain body balance while paying attention to the pulling of the skirt and stockings to avoid making the picture look cramped. To showcase the lines of the stockings and boots, the photographer adopted a lower camera angle. The glancing-back action tests the conveyance of the gaze even more, needing to portray that slightly detached yet lazy feeling. Although the cigarette in hand is not lit, its position between the fingers guides the line of sight very well. The reflections on the convenience store glass windows brought considerable challenges to the shooting, but making reasonable use of these reflections actually added more layering and depth to the photos. Because the leather jacket material easily produces highlights, we also did some softening treatments when lighting. To echo the hair color, the makeup intensified the blending of red eyeshadow, while the base makeup maintained a matte texture. The entire shooting process was a double test of physical strength and expressiveness. Shooting on the night streets also required overcoming interference from the surrounding environment and passersby to quickly enter the state. As a coser, it is not just about putting on clothes, but also matching the setting in every gesture. Although the leather jacket has a strong styling sense, wearing it on a summer night is still quite stuffy, and I had to persist for the sake of the photos. White boots are easy to get dirty, so extra care must be taken when squatting on the steps. This trial under ambient light has also allowed me to accumulate a lot of experience in night view cosplay. From grasping the overall atmosphere to adjusting every pose, high-frequency communication with the photographer was necessary. We would check the playback together during shooting intervals and adjust the lens angle and model's state at any time. For example, to highlight the texture of the Black stockings and white mid-calf boots, we tried backlight and side-backlight angles. The color tone of this set of photos leans towards cold and stern, so the post-processing also deliberately darkened the background to highlight the light and shadow of the character subject. For me, every time I do cosplay is a brand new experience; not only do I need to restore the external outfit, but I also need to deeply understand the character's current emotions. Even without complex plots and props, just the action of lighting a cigarette can convey a lot of information. The shooting has ended, but the night belonging to this character seems to have just begun. I hope this set of photos can provide some different visual references for friends who like the street style.
