This Halloween themed costume chose a witch style with a little devil vibe. The main body of the outfit is a black glossy tight short dress, with a fabric that has its own gloss, perfectly outlining the body lines under warm-toned lighting. The neckline is spliced with white ruffles and embellished with a black bow tie, adding a bit of layering. To echo the witch setting, a pair of small black bat wings is also paired on the back. The head features an exaggerated red wide-brimmed witch hat; the red-and-black color blocking is visually striking, and the black glossy sharp corners of the brim happen to unify with the texture of the dress.
In terms of makeup, to match the bright blue blunt-bangs medium-short hair, pinkish contact lenses were used for the eye makeup, paired with orange-red lip gloss, making the overall makeup clear and full of festive liveliness.
The shooting scene was chosen in an environment resembling a vintage bar. The dark brown tufted leather sofa has great texture, and the well-arranged wine cabinets and warm yellow string lights in the background provide an excellent depth of field and the mysterious lighting unique to Halloween for the entire frame. Different sizes of jack-o'-lanterns and a red plastic trident were prepared as props. To enrich the composition, I tried different sitting postures. One set of actions was sitting on a large jack-o'-lantern, utilizing the volume sense of the pumpkin as a foreground support; another set was leaning against the leather sofa, crossing the legs or extending them naturally, which can showcase the texture of the over-the-knee black stockings, while also utilizing the sofa lines for diagonal composition. During the shoot, I paid special attention to utilizing the string lights in the environment as rim lighting, allowing the edges of the black leather outfit to produce beautiful highlight reflections while also lighting up the facial contours.
In terms of pose guidance, making more use of hand gestures, such as holding the hat brim with one hand, gently touching the cheek with the other hand, or holding a prop, can effectively avoid the awkwardness of hands having nowhere to rest. The barefoot setting paired with over-the-knee black stockings can also showcase the leg lines. The entire shooting process was extremely pleasant, and the Halloween atmosphere combining darkness and playfulness is maxed out.
