For this Touhou Project Remilia cosplay shoot, the styling centered around a crimson-and-black Gothic Lolita aesthetic. The wig was a light lavender short cut, which required meticulous styling around the forehead curvature to flatter my facial contours. Paired with red contact lenses, fair foundation, and emphasized eye makeup, it elevated the overall refinement of the look. The costume itself is packed with fine details—tiered lace, pearl necklaces, an oversized ruby bow tie at the chest, and black demon wings on the back—all carefully chosen to faithfully recreate the character's original traits.

The shooting environment utilized rich crimson ambient lighting paired with themed stage decor; the red drapes and golden throne created a powerful visual impact. For props, I used a red apple—holding it in hand or biting lightly into it while locking eyes with the lens—which helped capture that unique blend of youthful innocence and regal arrogance. Moving around in the voluminous, multi-layered ruffled gown was quite tricky, but thankfully the photographer had an excellent command of framing and composition.

I deliberately coordinated black stockings and a red thigh garter to complement the leg-revealing silhouette. To showcase elongated leg lines on camera and add visual depth to the frame, I experimented with various sitting postures. In the fifth shot, I sat on the gilded throne with my legs crossed, holding the red apple in one hand; this angle not only highlighted the frontal details of the outfit, but the pairing of black stockings and the garter also accentuated the character's haughty and commanding aura. Throughout the shoot, because the ambient lighting was intensely red, skin tones were prone to color shifts, requiring careful color calibration in post-processing. Overall, however, this high-saturation contrast of crimson and black perfectly elevated the dark, mysterious Gothic atmosphere. From selecting garments and accessories to refining micro-expressions and poses, every step was aimed at delivering a purer artistic expression on camera. Though the process was physically demanding, seeing the final results made every bit of effort worthwhile.
