This shoot mainly centered around the specific outfit theme of "Frost Blade," choosing this modified Japanese-style clothing with a black, blue, white, and gold color scheme. The top adopts an off-the-shoulder tube top design, paired with ultra-long wide sleeves on the outside. The edges of the sleeves feature double-layered wide ruffles, giving a wonderful flowing feel when walking and swinging. The red rope knot at the waist and the blue badge with golden patterns are the highlights of this look, adding a splash of bright color to the overall cool and stern tone. To fit the theme, the wig underwent a special silver-white gradient treatment, and the thickness of the bangs was adjusted. Paired with the black bow ties on both sides and the metallic hair ornaments at the top, it attempts to create a sharp and noble visual effect. For the makeup, cool-toned eyeshadow was selected, paired with bright contact lenses to try and make the gaze look more piercing, perfectly complementing the Japanese-style makeup and styling.
The arrangement of the shooting venue was very meticulous, constructing a dark wooden platform with a pure black backdrop, cooperating with the Japanese-style wooden screen behind and paper lanterns glowing with a warm yellow light to form a very intense contrast between cool and warm tones as well as a sense of spatial depth. A reflective film was laid on the floor, mirroring the wooden platform and the character's silhouette, adding a water-like mirror texture to the frame. The white tulle hanging on the left and the white plum blossom branches slanting out beautifully enriched the foreground and layering of the picture.
In terms of prop coordination, a silver-and-black oil-paper umbrella and a black long-handled long blade were used this time. During the shoot, the photographer utilized a powerful rim light striking from behind, creating a bright halo around the edges of the white wig, which turned out very effective. When holding the umbrella, it's necessary to control the tilt angle of the ribs so that the light can filter through the surface to form a beautiful scattering; when gripping the blade, attention must be paid to the tension of the posture, avoiding looking too soft to embody the inherent weight of the weapon itself. The shoes are specially customized thick-soled geta (wooden clogs), which, along with the complex golden straps on the legs, indeed make the feet tired after standing for a long time. However, as long as the standing posture's center of gravity is well-adjusted, it beautifully restores that elegant stance from the setting. The final images did not intentionally try to create an overly soft feel, but hoped to convey this cool, somber, yet slightly playful character temperament of an Anime girl, and the final presented effect perfectly met the initial expectations of this Cosplay photography.
