[Yae Miko cosplay] Details and Light & Shadow of the Red-and-White Kimono cosplay

This shoot took place in a studio with a pure black backdrop, primarily to accentuate the color contrast of this red-and-white Kimono cosplay. The costume is brimming with intricate details; the subtle cherry blossom jacquard on the white haori and the tassels at the waist look especially stunning under crisp key lighting. During styling, ample holding spray was used to secure the pink wig into its voluminous, fluffy shape, and the horn headwear alongside the Fox ears on top had to be pinned down firmly. For makeup, I specifically opted for pink-blue contact lenses to enhance the expressiveness of my gaze.

Throughout the shoot, the photographer constantly sought precise angles to elongate leg lines through the high-slit skirt while ensuring the wide sleeves wouldn't obscure the strapped waist detailing. The third picture is dedicated to a lower-body close-up showcasing the leg silhouette; lifting the leg slightly when posing enhanced the fabric's drape and created an elongated bodily proportion. Walking around in this outfit is rather cumbersome—the wide sleeves easily brush against surroundings, and the catalyst wand gets noticeably heavy after holding it for a while.

Yet to convey this Fox ears big-sister deity's signature blend of laziness, playful teasing, and haughty composure, every gesture had to be carefully measured. Wearing this to an Anime convention turned countless heads; while adjusting the garments was exhausting, bringing to life a Genshin Impact character I adore felt truly special. A dark shadowy backdrop paired with a single key light proved ideal for highlighting the luxurious jacquards and materials of this costume, resulting in clean, crisp final images.
